I already have 2 but what I'm most scared of for #3 (in the future lol) is after birth uterine cramping. It was HORRIBLE after #2 and I've only heard that it gets worse

@Mrs. Lion: I only breastfed the 1st for about 2-3 weeks. My second son was better at it but he had a tongue tie which made his latch super painful. So I gave up after a week - absolutely no regrets. Breastfeeding has not been some kind of wonderful euphoric bonding experience for me. I'm so much happier just giving them formula! I couldn't love or be any more bonded to my boys!

The 1st time I was pretty upset. I was more meh about it this time.

Right now the only thing I am not looking forward to is potty training again seeing as I haven't even got lo #2 potty trained yet! I know it's far away but I hate potty training.

Eta: I was also afraid of lo #2 being super hard because #1 was easy but lo#2 ended up pretty easy as well :)

LOL to those afraid of karma.
I'm afraid #2 will be just as hard if not harder than #1! Fussy, 20 minute naps, multiple nightly wake ups. Things did not get better till she was almost 1.

@knittylady: Ditto on LO#1 being a tough, tough newborn. He was a great sleeper, but when he was awake it was colic city. On the one hand, since I've been through it and made it to the other side with a happy toddler who I adore, I know it'll be okay and I'll survive if it happens again. On the other... I am holding out hope that I get a really easy baby this time around. I think I can deal with any of the normal newborn stuff, even with a toddler too, as long as LO#2 is a happy newborn. It's so hard - but nice - to imagine!

@emg86: I'm in the same boat with the 2 under 2...aaah!

I'm scared of handling two at the same time, especially if our second isn't as laid back and mellow as our first. I'm also worried that DH will have a harder time handling it. Sometimes J tries his patience, and I can only imagine what 2 of them crying at the same time might do.

From a me perspective, I do NOT look forward to the pumping at work and juggling being a successful career woman with being a successful mom; I want both, but I know it won't be that easy.

Oh and the expenses...that's gonna be a rough one too with 2 in daycare. Gulp. :meh:

2 under 2...eeeeeekkkkkkk!!!! J will be 16 months when baby brother arrives.

MOTN wake ups...J is an early riser and if baby brother is anything like she was...he will looooove to be up at night.

Breastfeeding was not awful or painful for me the first time around and I'm praying that I have the same experience again.

As a mom who had baby #2 a few months ago, I can say the sleep deprivation and MOTN wakes ups were easier this time. I think my body is just now used to broken sleep.

Breastfeeding still hurt and I gave it up quickly.

Juggling two was definitely hard but got easier around month two.

Nothing seems as bad this time - my older son was pretty laid back and this baby is too.

On a positive note, DS1 was not much of a sleeper. DS2 is better.

MOTN wakeups + having a toddler to contend too. We've already decided she will still go to daycare so I can get some sleep when I'm on maternity leave.

LO was such a good night sleeper, the though of waking up every 2 hours scares me, we used to wake her up to feed her in the beginning. She was going 5-6 hours by the time she was 3 weeks old.

Attempting breastfeeding again...it went horribly last time.

Worried about LO1 feeling abandoned. :(

Also he was a seriously difficult newborn, so I'm terrified we'll get more of the same in that area. I also (and this is the biggest fear) am afraid of PPD again. So much so that I'm looking into placenta encapsulation. I would do ANYTHING not to be in that place again.

also I think there a lot of things I've forgotten, like how messy everything is between oversupply spraying all over, spit up, blowouts, etc.

For as much as I say I'm not a 'baby person', I really didn't mind too much of the newborn/baby stage! I even liked MOTN wakeups because they were so sweet and cuddly (and she only woke up once/was easy to put back down - I had it easy)..

DEFinitely bottles though. Daycare takes care of their own bottles though, so if I can get BFing to work this time, I won't have to deal with bottles hardly ever!

Oh, and BFing pain, definitely not looking forward to that.

And pumping. Uggghhhh :crying:

Ugh, so scared of MOTN wake-ups. And soooooo not looking forward to pumping around the clock. Just ordered some new parts for my pump though, so... yay?

I'm also really scared that baby #2 won't be as easy as Xander was. Xander was great at self-soothing, even as a newborn, and we've had very little issues with teething (he's had molars pop up that I didn't even know he was working on) so I'm scared about dealing with a more "normal" baby!
