@gotkimchi: the Honda and Toyota vans are typically very car seat friendly, though some years are better than others. The link I shared above should help a lot

@catgirl: one more question - would you happen to know if any minivans (or vehicles) have 3 tethers in the third row? We might have a way to supply a different car

@catgirl: thank you, you have been so helpful. I know my 4yo isn’t ready for a booster, she’s still under 30lb and sleeps in the car seat a lot so we will keep her harnessed for a long time.

We will have to install everything and see what is easiest for my mom - thanks for that graphic that’s exactly what I needed!

@gotkimchi: I think you would really need to play around with loading everyone in to see what is easiest.

High back boosters do not need to be tethered. But 5 is really the minimum to use a booster and there are only a few boosters that work in the outboard seats of the third row. It's a really tricky van...

@catgirl: ok that was the other arrangement we came up with but we’re trying to avoid since my mom watches the kids and we didn’t want it so difficult to load. We will have to make it work.

Do you think it would be easier to keep a rf convertible in the third row and a rf bucket seat in a captains chair or to keep ff convertibles in both captain chairs and the baby in the third row. We want to use the infant base and leave it installed

@gotkimchi: retrofitting anchors is done for cars that do not have any, with some exceptions. Unfortunately your van does not have any pre drilled holes to add any, so you are stuck with the three you have.

You would have to have a forward facing seat in each captain's chair and one in the back. The rear facing seat would also need to go in the back.

@catgirl: interesting, my dad is a car mechanic for chrysler and he didn’t know what I was talking about so you must be right.

So that means we can only have 1 forward facing seat in the back at all? My oldest is 4 and still needs to be harnessed so a booster seat isn’t an option. Also trying to fit 2 more ff seats and a rf infant seat

@gotkimchi: unfortunately, I'm almost positive, you can't add additional anchors. The one anchor can either be used with the offset lower anchors or the middle seatbelt.

@catgirl: it’s a 2013 Chrysler town and country. It currently only has one anchor spot in the third row and it’s offset from center so we’d like to get 3 tether anchors to allow for 3 in a row

What year is your van? If you already have the three standard anchors I don't believe the town and country allows for additional ones to be added.

Does anyone know what 3 seats I can fit in the third row of a Chrysler town and country all forward facing? We will be having it retrofit with more tethers.
