@HappyBaker: hmm good to know, I’m actually thinking of switching #2 to a high back booster by the time #3 is born. So I’ll have 2 in a high back with the bucket seat....so you are saying baseless for the bucket?

@RDHBee: Ugh not really! We've made it work but it is less than ideal and I'm counting down until I feel like DD is mature enough for a big kid / no back booster! What helped was definitely using seat belt installs for all 3 seats, and keeping both FF kids in their harness instead of using the buckle because it is too tight for anyone to buckle up that way. I think if we had 2 of the same FF seats that would save us some space - we really only need a couple of inches to make the install way less cramped!

@HappyBaker: did you find a solution for DH’s forester? I have a 2016 and expecting #3. I have a FF and high back booster (both evenflo). Hopefully you found a solution!

@catgirl: thanks! Baseless might work but it’s almost impossible to reach the buckle next to the other seat. Worth a shot though! And yea I was counting on that website but where the seats actually sit once latched or installed makes it less space than there should be!

Are you using the base for the infant seat? If so you could try baseless. That will save some space, though can be a challenge in a tight three across.

Just be aware graco does not allow seats to overlap/share space at all - you need to be able to essentially draw a straight line between the seats. Not sure where diono currently stands on overlap - they have gone back and forth a bit on their stance.

Also the car crash detective is not the most reliable source. They don't actually install all of the seat combos, just use measurements. And seats don't always sit an exact way.

according to this article the Radian will fit x3 across in the forester, so maybe putting 2 in will help with the fit of the bucket seat.

ETA: it says 2 Radians and a Chicco Keyfit30 will fit, so as long as the Graco is similar in size to the Chicco you should be good.

I drive a mini van but DH has a 2015 Forester. We just had baby #3 a month ago and we procrastinated installing the car seats in his car because it’s such a pain to uninstall and reinstall. Well now that we tried I can’t get them to fit 3 across! We have one Diono Radian FF, a Graco Tranzitions FF and a Graco Snugride baby bucket. I put the Radian in the middle since my oldest will sit there and in the car manual it’s not recommended to install an infant seat there. The bucket is on the passenger side but the door hits it when closing which obviously won’t work! Any ideas? Does anyone have this setup in this car? We have a second Radian in my car so my only idea is to do 2 Radians and maybe they will snug up closer since they’re the same?
