No matching outfits! We did 4 generations on both sides and didn't coordinate outfits at all. Just by chance, me, my mom, my grandma and LO were all wearing black and white (or deep navy and white) patterned outfits so it actually looks like we coordinated some. My husband, his mom, grandpa and LO all had on different colors but the photos are still awesome.

@runsyellowlites: i saw that photo and immediately thought of it!

@Sugar.Biscuit: no matchy matchy! go for co-ordinated and complementary colors, but not the same! maybe have the grandparents in some neutrals and then each family unit in complementary colors if you want to do that kind of "theme."

I would definitely do coordinating colors over "matching" outfits... my mom thinks they look good but we know that they don't really. lol

And we've been meaning to do a 4 generation pic of us girls for awhile... I want to do something like this:

What do you do for a multi generation family photos? My MIL liked the idea of everyone wearing the same thing...I think its OLD SCHOOL but really how do you coordinate 3 generations/ 4 different families outfits?

I thought about sticking with gray & white & picking one or two colors to make things pop?

Any suggestions or ideas? The pictures will be taken indoor & outdoors in Nebraska in September. It may or may not be hot. Also there will be 12 of us!

ETA: Bonus if you have pictures.
