We brought baby Stroller home from the hospital in 3mos clothes, because I didn't buy anything newborn. Everyone told me he'd grow out of them in no time. He ended up being in NB for 8w and is still wearing some 3m now at nearly 5 mos. I only bought two newborn sleepers thinking he'd outgrow them the first couple weeks. And the first couple weeks he was mostly just wrapped in blankets or laying on my chest anyway. But turns out that he was in newborn until just recently (and some still fit!) and he's 10 weeks old, 12 lbs. I was so surprised. I wish I had bought a few more NB outfits. But I know this isn't the case for everyone. But here's the thing, (and this is more pronounced when he's wearing a cloth diaper, but this applies even in thinner disposables), Baby X has a long, wide torso, and short legs. She is very thin and tall and has been her whole life. She's very tall, but not very heavy, so the fit is a little funny.
