@Littlebit7: tonight I started at 5:45 and it was still an hour to get him to bed. Guess this is just what it is going to take for now.

@periwinklebee: we have talked about doing a bottle of pumped milk before bed but it hasn’t happened. I’ll have to talk to DH again about it.

I do think he is trying to fill up and he does his biggest stretch of sleep after this.

If he wants to nurse more, maybe it's just that he's still a bit hungry. A bottle of pumped milk might help him to get full faster, but then you have to pump, so not sure you come out ahead.

My LO won't go down until he's really full and has always been a leisurely eater...

@Littlebit7: bedtime usually starts 6-6:30, depending on his naps. Some nights it should start earlier but if DH isn’t home from work and I have to get DS1 fed it just doesn’t happen.

What time does this all happen? How long has it been since he woke from his last nap?
I found I was putting my kids to bed too late. At that age there’s probably only 2 hours of wake time from the end of the last nap to going to bed.

@JJ2626: He usually only gets bathed once a week, the other nights I just wash his face with a cloth.

@cyoung: I guess maybe I just have to go with it for now.

Maybe drop the rocking. Also we dont bath every night especially that young. Once babies start crawling then I bath them more. Idk at 3 months it's hard to put babies on a routine. They will change it on you a few times due to teething and stuff. I wouldn't worry too much. We didnt do a routine till like 9 months old. I would just feed and change my babies and then put them to bed. They now only take 5 minutes to go to sleep. They are 2 and 1 now.

You could drop the bath! We only bathe a couple of times a week and LO sleeps great without it as part of the bedtime routine. At that age, especially, they don’t need to be bathed every day.

Please help. It feels like it takes forever to get DS to bed at night.

His routine is:
Bath/wash up
Jammie’s
Nursing
Rocking
Into his crib
Most nights he needs to be rocked again or will nurse a bit more.

This whole thing takes about an hour. Is this just normal and I’ll have to wait it out? Or any ideas of how to get this to be not so time consuming?

The worst nights are when DH is working laste and I also have DS1 to get to bed.
