@Sweetpea87: I have a 2.5 month old and never count his feeds. As long as baby is having good diaper output, in a pretty good mood, and gaining well, I think you can just follow their lead.

I had one 3 month old that still ate every 90 minutes and would nurse at least 30-45 min per feed. I had another 3 month old who could go 3 hours between feeds and would nurse for just 5 minutes at a time. Every baby is different and yours sounds fine.

@Sweetpea87: I know it's hard not to worry but just follow baby's lead. DS was not much of a "snacker" but more of a meal kind of guy, so he ate less often than what was recommended. I was worried, too, but he's a wonderfully healthy 1 year old, so all is well.

If baby is still gaining well and having good outputs then I wouldn't worry about it! My little guy was a very efficient feeder and unless he was hungry he just wasn't interested in nursing which was a complete change from his older sister who was a big fan of comfort nursing!

My baby has been eating 7x a day since about 6 weeks old. For the past few days, he's napped or played through his 4th feed of the day. It seems like he's getting ready to drop it, but everything I read says a 3 month old should be eating 7-8 times a day. He's still going through 10 diapers a day, and he sleeps from 11-6. Is 6x too little for a 3 month (13 week) old?
