Yep, our pedi told us early on that EBF babies can go a few days without a poop. Ours poops a few times a day, he's 3 months old, but he's not pooping after every single feeding anymore. Normal!

My LO is EBF and she often goes a few days without pooping. When she does, it tends to be pretty massive. The first time she didn't go for an entire day after pooing 3-7 times each day, these first time parents called the pediatrician. Our nurse reassured us it was totally normal.

Yep, totally normal. Especially in EBF babies. Around that age their bodies become incredibly efficient users of nutrients, so they're not making quite as much waste. Granted, it doesn't happen with every baby, but it's very common for them to not poop for a long time. The longest my LO went without pooping is 13 days. She wasn't constipated at all. Even now that she's eating mostly solids, she poops only every other day or so. Again, not constipated. As long as your LO isn't uncomfortable or having hard, dry poops he's probably A-Ok.

Mine is 4 months and went from once a day to every 3-4 days. He does have constipation though so are working with the pediatrician to make it better.

From what I've read, after the first few weeks pooping anywhere from every few days to after every feeding is normal for breasted babies. My LO is just about 3 months and still poops 5-7 times a day! I think it runs the gamut and as long as baby isn't in distress and poop isn't super hard or dry it's fine.

So weeks 1- 10 my son was pooping at least once a day, sometimes more. The last two weeks he's been going a few days (3 is the longest so far) without pooping, and then all of a sudden has a massive diaper full, usually blow out. I'm guessing he can't be constipated since he only has milk.

Is this normal pooping behavior?
