My son did this from the day he was born and the hospital nurses didn't even blink so I just went with it! Still now at 8 weeks old he sleeps swaddled on his side.

He should be fine assuming there's nothing else in the crib with him. DS2 started rolling to his belly at night a little after he turned 3 months. We talked to the pediatrician and she said it was ok to leave him as he was likely strong enough now because he was capable of rolling back to belly.

T was a tummy sleeper from 4 months. At first it made me anxious but she's comfortable and happy.

@meadow: @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: @Foodnerd81: Okay PHEW. Thank you! He was up again a few times last night and each time we put him back to sleep he'd roll right to his side. I couldn't see him breathing on the monitor so I definitely went in to check a few times!

Then this morning, from the time I got out of bed when I saw him stirring on the monitor until I got to his room, he had rolled on his belly! I felt bad, his whole arm was out of the crib in between the railings and he wasn't a happy camper 😬

Totally fine. My newborn was doing this (like at day 2 home) and the pediatrician agreed just to let her sleep. As long as you put them on their back to sleep, thats all you can do.

Totally fine! As long as he rolled there himself it's ok. Can you see that he's breathing through the monitor? Not that it's necessary- he is!- but I know I used to like that reassurance anyway. :)

It'a fine. LO started rolling onto his side about 2 months old too and just stayed in that position. At 3 months he figured how to roll onto his tummy. So far he hasn't needed my assistance to help make sure his airways are open.

My LOs are 2 months and have been rolling to their sides frequently for at least a month....they can't roll all the way to their stomachs yet, so I'm not worried.

I'm writing this in the MOTN because I can't sleep, staring at my baby sleeping on his side on the baby monitor. This is night 2 of him being in his own room. When I left the room he was on his back, but by the time I got down the hall back to my room and checked the monitor he was on his side. I'm scared he'll roll over and not be able to get back. Ugh.

Help my insomnia by telling me this is okay!
