@Alexandra603: The home parties I have attended have had activities like a tattoos, face painting, balloon animal, pinata, and some variation of pin the tail on the donkey.
If you are ok with a potential messy set up, then things like a water table, playdoh or painting are always fun options.

My daughter went to either a 3rd or 4th bday party at her friend's house in January (we're in the NE), honestly they love playing with other people's toys! They had Anna come later on for some singing, face painting, pictures, cake. But even if Anna didn't come, I feel like they wouldn't have needed extra entertainment!

There are cute craft kits at oriental trading and target (search Spritz craft kits at target.com). Lots of cute options. The oriental trading ones are cheaper if you have a bigger crowd.

I remember my son went to a party at 3 that was all hot wheels themed. The mom asked all her friends to borrow whatever hot wheel tracks they had and the kids each got to pick a new car when they arrived at the party (which was the favor). She had like 7-8 hot wheel tracks and the kids were well occupied the whole time! It was pretty great

When my son was 3 he had a construction party and we set up a work zone aka rice table with some construction toys, funnels, shovels, etc. I put beach towels under it to catch the rice but the kids were really good about not dumping rice everywhere and it kept them really entertained.

We are inviting a few friends over for my son's first non-family birthday party in October (he's turning 3). What are some simple indoor activities we could do at the party? The weather in October in Seattle is not reliable enough to plan anything outdoors (it will probably be raining) - otherwise I would have done a bounce house. And our house is pretty small. My daughter's birthday is in June and it's so much easier to do birthday parties where the kids can also run around outside! Any ideas? Thank you!!
