we did a scavenger hunt at olive's park birthday, and it was a huge hit! you could just use clip art to create it. you could also do a simple art or craft project. something they could take home.

sounds like enough. My friend did something similar. DD had a great time. She also did a donut decorating activity with the kids.

We just went to a birthday party for 3 and up. LO had a ball just running around outside playing with the cozy coupe, slide, etc. No special activities necessary.

We're having LO's Saturday. Our plan is to put out a bunch of toys plus her slide in the yard and maybe pull out the water table. We've always done that and the kids play HARD! I'm not spending money on renting things until she's old enough to request them!

We rented a bounce house and that was popular with the 3+ crowd. the younger kids had fun with our toys, ball pit and tunnel!

That sounds pretty good to me!

Someone brought a small bounce house to a BBQ a few weeks ago and it was a HUGE HIT with the kids.

We had home parties for age 4 and it was low key - you know what the kids loved the most? Playing hide-n-seek!

I think what you have in mind sounds perfect!!

If you had a party at home for your 3 year old, did you plan activities or did you just set out some things for them to play with?

I'm thinking of inviting some daycare kids for M's party and don't want to go crazy. We are only inviting older 2/young 3 year olds to the party. I was thinking it would be enough if we open the sandbox, fill up the blow-up pool, put out the colored rice bin and put chalk and bubbles on the patio. That's enough, right? Any other free/very cheap ideas?
