@MrsSRS: The OK to wake clock is magic! Two nights in a row of over 10 hours with no crying after months of not going a single night without multiple episodes of crying out waking the whole house. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'd probably offer to go buy her a special new friend to keep her from getting lonely. Maybe do a build a bear with the heartbeat thing?

My daughter has been asking for me to sleep in her bed because she says that she's lonely. I feel so bad for her, but I don't want to start cosleeping with her again. I think she's also a little jealous that her baby brother gets to cosleep with us. I am hoping that when we move the baby out of our bed, she won't ask anymore.

My son was doing the same thing, waking up and saying he missed us. We printed out a 5x7 family picture and taped it up on the wall beside his bed and told him when he wakes up he can look at our picture and remember that we're just in the next room.

I think if you don't want to co-sleep then you just have to wait it out. Calmly tell her that you are sorry she is lonely, but that everyone needs to sleep to be healthy, that she won't be lonely if she is asleep because she will be dreaming about playing with her friends, and tell her you will have a cuddle in the morning. Then leave. Maybe try an ok to wake clock too? When it's yellow it's time to do more dreaming and when it's green it's time to be together.

DD turned 3 in September. She had been sleeping through the night fairly consistently starting around age 1. She is fully night potty trained and used to get up needing to use the bathroom once or twice a week, but would go back down quickly.

She had bronchitis a little over a month ago which was waking her up from coughing. Bronchitis is cleared up, but she's still waking up at night! Last night she was up three times. When she had bronchitis, my husband slept in her bed a few nights when her cough was awful (I was dealing with our 7 month old so we split the night duties.) Now when she wakes up crying, when we check on her she says something like "I'm so lonely, I want to sleep in your bed."

Help! Any ideas? She has her blankie and her favorite stuffed bear every night, but they don't seem to be helping. We don't want to cosleep as a normal practice, and I think now we've learned we probably shouldn't do it even when she's sick.
