@serenity207: yep, nope, i eat plenty! As long as I get a balance of carbs/protein/fat that support my training, I'm not hungry. It doesn't mean i don't have to fight off sugar cravings and stuff, but i'm not sitting there eating rabbit food and snacking on celery and air at 3pm :)

@Blackbird - I'm glad it's not just me!! I literally can not fathom eating like that for more than a couple of (miserable) days. I'm going to have to google macronutrient diet and learn more about that! Maybe it'll finally be the thing that works for me more long term. You never know!

@serenity207: I find those diet plans to be really paltry, personally :) I've had much better success calculating a baselike BMR, factoring in activity levels, and working off a macronutrient diet system. Because I eat so much protein, I'm not hungry or wanting for food. It's strict but I'm a believer that you have to eat to lose

Thanks for all the feedback, ladies! I'll check out the other workouts you suggested...but it sounds like adjusting my food intake (quality and quantity) is also key. I am a lot more mindful now of what I eat, but I also love to eat and it takes a LOT to fill me up! I'm notorious among my friends for my huge appetite. So far, my metabolism has done a decent job in keeping me at a good weight (I'm back to my pre-pregnancy weight but would still like to lose the 5lbs or so that I was trying to lose before I got pregnant), but I can definitely see that it is easier for me to gain weight now than it used to be. When I try to follow recommended menu plans for healthy eating, all the meals seem like snacks to me and I spend the rest of the day famished and hangry (even when trying to fill up with proteins)! Haha! And then working out makes me that much hungrier... Anyway, didn't mean to go off on a tangent...just wanted to say thanks again! :)

@serenity207: I only have 30 minutes to work out a day (in the morning before LO gets up). I initially did all 30 DS and then when I was bored I added in Jillian's 6 week 6 pack and Ripped in 30. 6 week 6 pack did not end up in a six pack but i did feel more toned and it is a circuit style as well as whole body. I think you can still get it free on youtube. Ripped in 30 did feel harder than 30 DS although I only did level 1 before I got pregnant.

I had the most success combining these with my fitness pal to track my food and hold me accountable. Good luck!

I've done both and I like both but for different reasons. I think 30 day shred (didn't follow the meal plan, but was trying to eat healthier in general) worked really well for overall toning and I did lose a few pounds. I love C25K for getting into running as a long term cardio option. I'm doing it again now to get back into running shape. I lose some weight when I start running again, but for me, I don't see major pounds lost with anything unless I alter my diet quite a bit as well.

C25K was how I got into running 3x/wk for over a year before I got pregnant! I hated running, and ended up tolerating it, so that was a win for me :) Probably will need to restart it to get back into things now that the weather is better.

The diet is super key-but circuit training is, IMO, better for fat loss than running at a steady state.

If you've tried the 30 Day Shred without following the meal plan it offers (but still ate healthy), how did you like it? Do you have any other workouts (preferably no more than 30m) that worked well for you? I hate working out but have somehow finally convinced myself that I can manage a 30m workout/day (rest on Sundays). I like how 30 Day works on a circuit basis since I get bored easily, but I'm wondering if there are other workout routines I can sub in to change things up. Considering the couch-to-5K app...any feedback on that? I definitely feel stronger and a little more tone after about 3 weeks of 30 Day but have lost only a pound or so. I'd love to lose 5lbs but those last 5lbs have always been the most stubborn for me...
