@locavore_mama: Yup I use the pillow! It definitely helps but doesn't completely get rid of the back pain.

I'm not sure. But as soon as I reached the maternity ward by phone at my hospital the nurse I talked to was quick to help me and give me some advice.

I asked my doctor what to do at my last appointment if I needed to call and it was after hours and he advised me just to go straight in to the ER if I ever wasn't feeling right. But we were more talking about pre term labor. But he said calling the hospital and talking to the nurses is fine if I'm not sure if it's an emergency or not. I go back on Thursday so I'll bring all this up again.

@Danizaur: glad you are feeling better! :)

A pillow between my legs sometimes helped alleviate the hip pressure. Did you find out if your dr has nurse on call service?

@Danizaur: call your office. There are usually nurse on calls. Lay down, have some juice and see if you feel better meanwhile. I had episodes like that towards the end.

ETA: just saw your update!
Hip and back pain was constant through the end of my pregnancy. :(

Update!

Good morning! I feel much better. I think all of my symptoms are gone but my back and hip pain is still really bad. I didn't sleep hardly any last night but I do feel better!

I hope you are able to get some sleep and wake up feeling much better! At the end of my pregnancy, my hips and back started to just kill...and I saw a chiro weekly! Don't hesitate to call again, though, if you just don't feel right. Especially if it's bad enough that you can't sleep through it!

@Danizaur: Is there a chiropractor in your area? I started having a lot of hip and back pain at 28 weeks and by 32 weeks I was having a hard time walking due to the pain. Once I started going to the chiropractor twice a week I felt much, much better and it helped hyla get and stay in a good position while relieving my pain.

I felt lethargic today, with lots of pelvic pain and really thirsty... Midwife appointment an hour ago and she said it was probably down to how much I ate yesterday (will still be digesting) and the fact that bebe is starting to descend. She prescribed having the rest of the day off from doing anything and having lots of water!

@evansjamie: I will. The back and pelvic pain is worrying me. I get it often but only when I'm over active and strain myself. I haven't done anything all day remotely active besides shower and this has started since I came to bed. I don't think its signs of preterm labor but it is out of the ordinary.

I'll call the doc tomorrow and go in tomorrow if this doesn't go away. My body could just be worn out and just getting to the end of it.

I called and talked to a really nice nurse and she didn't seem concerned. She said I may be coming down with something but I didn't know how to explain to her that I don't feel sick. Told me to drink lots of water and rest for a while and see if I felt better. So that's what I'm gonna do.

Even though it sounds like it's a common low-energy day toward the end of the pregnancy, I would still call, just to be sure. There is no harm in at all in alerting your doctor that you are feeling differently than you usually do.

Usually, the doctor's answering service will have the doctor call you back as soon as possible, even if it's not an emergency. I hope you feel more like yourself soon! Believe, me, I remember that completely drained feeling well :(

@swedishfish: I'm not sure. I can probably call the maternity ward at the hospital and speak to one of the LD nurses. Honestly I've never had anything but a quick checkup at the doctor so I'm not sure of the policies with who to call and such.

Odds are it's nothing to worry about, but if you still don't feel well in a little bit I would want to check in with someone. I was always extra-cautious when pregnant.

Hey bees! I say unwell because I honestly don't feel sick. I'm 32 weeks tomorrow, and I've been lethargic all day which isn't uncommon, but I felt a little extra today. I showered about an hour ago and put on pjs and found I was out of breath and having back pain when I was done. My body has been giving out lately, with a lot of pain in my back, hips, legs, etc when I am active so I didn't think much of it.

All of the sudden though DH was talking to me and I just felt too drained to answer (not sleepy) and I got nauseous and I feel short of breath. I feel hot and have a headache but i don't have a fever. I came into the bedroom to lay down and i felt the baby move like normal and I feel a little bit better.

Just wondering if I should go to the ER? My Drs office is closed and I just don't feel right and that's what has got me even considering going. This pregnancy has been 100% uncomplicated so far.
