I just asked my OB about this earlier this week. She said often our uteruses just want to do a little practice before the big game - said it's nothing to worry about. Glad that's what your provider ended up saying as well! I know that my long, painful cramping session had me scared too.

Don't feel silly, there's so many weird aches and pains with pregnancy. Some of them mean something and some of them don't. You're not supposed to be an expert on something you've never experienced, that's why we have OBs and midwives and all them people who deal with this stuff everyday.

@daniellemybelle: don't feel silly. They would rather see you 100 times for false alarms than have you stay home one time when there is a problem.

@daniellemybelle: Don't ever feel silly about pregnancy questions. I had a UTI and BV at one point when I had horrible spotting at 20+ weeks. Rest and lots of water are awesome.

UPDATE: Appointment went fine. As I thought, there was nothing wrong at all. They put me on the monitor and I wasn't having contractions and LO's heart rate was perfect. I don't have a UTI either. They said to just stay hydrated, take it easy, and do some stretches to help with my back pain. I feel a little silly about the whole thing but I'm glad it's all okay! Thanks for your advice!

@daniellemybelle: this crampy/menstrual feeling in my lower back started for me around 32wks and I've had it pretty much every day since (I'm 37wks now). I called the emergency midwife one night for peace of mind, but she said it was nothing to worry about...

@wheres_c: How far along were you!? Was the baby moving a lot? She was moving a TON yesterday, and today it's not nearly as much... I'm probably reading into it though!

@kjpugs: I think it could be because I had a big heavy meal last night? Several days ago I got super sick because I ate food that was too rich... but those were definitely stomach cramps, and this is back/uterus/vag for sure.

@daniellemybelle: glad you called! I think because especially it just came on randomly and not something that you could tie to an event or activity (like feeling sore/crampy after being on your feet all day, etc) it concerns me more. Let me know what they say!!! Hope all is well!

I feel like I'm overreacting, but I went ahead and called & left a message. The cramping is not as bad as it was when I woke up, but my back still really hurts, and it's coming in waves now which concerns me a little!

I woke up today feeling like I'm starting my period. My uterus/vagina is really achey & crampy and I have dull lower back pain. Generally it feels like my LO tried to beat me up from the inside & now I'm all bruised & battered. I've been having Braxton Hicks for a couple weeks now but they don't really hurt - it's just intense tightening that then goes away. What's weird is this crampiness is consistent, rather than coming & going like BH.

Is this just another wonderful part of being pregnant or should I be concerned?
