I think it might be a time when they start to really realize who their family is, and how a family unit is separate from others. She's also very into wanting her sister to herself, and jumps out of bed a few times some nights, to run over and peek into her sister's bed and make sure she's still there. Around 2.5 we moved and she stopped sleeping with the door closed. She has a huge mommy preference and went through a phase before dh's paternity leave where she would cry if I even went to take a shower without her set up right outside. 😮 It's tough. No advice, things have just changed and gone up and down for us as time goes on. We've had a lot of transitions in the past year as well- I was pregnant and sick a lot, we moved, she potty trained, she did different activities over the summer, she started preschool, her baby brother was born, etc...Not sure how much is related to that but I'm kind of just waiting it out for now, especially since I want to move again (just ten min away back to old neighborhood) and were traveling and she will be going to school more (3 now up to 5 half days) and I'll be finishing classes then hopefully working ft... He's had serious separation anxiety since August. It's rough some days, but I love it other times when I want to snuggle. I feel like he's starting to come out of it, though, because he's been willing to go to other people's houses or out to lunch without us again lately. He still asks if we'll go or if we're staying with him, but he's ok if we do go without him most of the time. He's been ok with going to school because he knows I'm going to work. But I can't do any errands without him. He flips out and must come with me. If I'm in the shower or bathroom, I can hear him asking for me. T suddenly wants all of us around all the time, doesn't want me out of the room, wants to know when his dad is getting home from work, wants to wake his brother up from naps and generally wants us "all together" all the time! It's super sweet but is very rough on me because I work from home and he suddenly is resisting the nanny. </p> <p> He's been sick, we are moving soon, and I'm sure these are big factors but I'm also curious if other preschoolers are going through this! Thanks! </p>
