My OB told me effacement is a much better indicator than dilation. @Running Elley was like 60% or something at her 36w appointment and she had her LO at 38 or 39 weeks.<br /> I was 25% effaced at 36 and I went to 40w. I'm 2cm dilated, and 80% effaced. I know this means things could be imminent, or I could be weeks away from labor. I haven't had any contractions, BH or otherwise, at this point.</p> <p>Anyone have stories of how long it took for you to go into labor when you were dilating/effacing? I'll be packing my hospital bag tonight just in case. </p>
