@jessiejo17: thank you. yes i really need to get on those meals. and a HOME spa day is a great idea!

@purrpletulips: I am stay at home already so it's harder to self motivate but there is always plenty of work to be done. perhaps i need some kind of lengthly project. something i am accountable to someone for like my husband.

@anacarlin: so glad you had a healthy happy baby in the end. I would and WILL cry too if i see peeps come and go and am waiting but at least i know there is a wonderful payoff in the end.
@Mrsdaredevil: Well in theory i am going to the wedding. We live in portland oregon so i can only go if the doctor approves baby for the 3 hour trip and the later he comes the less likely that will be i am afraid. We shall see.
That is sound advice. I am really trying to living in moment and enjoy. i think being so very pregnant and less agile makes it all a bit harder but i am still working on it. I know these are the last few days before a HUGE life change. In wonderful ways but its also good to say goodbye to the old life. I just wish i were not so antsy.

@MrsMccarthy: you're going to a wedding in Seattle? I live there! Haha

Well I had a lot of anxiety around 37 weeks because was so anxious for baby to come. The waiting was killing me and I hated not having any control over when it would happen. It didn't help that at 39 weeks I was 4, almost 5 centimeters dilated!

Looking back, I can say that I wish I spent more time sleeping and doing "me" things rather than sitting around waiting for the baby to come. Your life is going to change so much...fit in as much as you can now! Get pedicures, go on dates with your DH,, go see movies, etc. You're really going to be missing that stuff a month from now. Oh, and sleep. Because you probably wont sleep soundly for another 18 years.

I know the feeling. All the other mamas in my birthing class had their babies early and one friend had her baby 2 weeks early on MY due date. I cried. Literally. And yes, LO is soooo worth the wait. I totally think an extra 11 days cookin really helped because she's slept through the night since week 6 and has the best disposition :) wishing you all the best <3

I worked pretty much up until delivery (last 3 days were from home though) so that kept my mind occupied. During the evenings we just did the normal things without focusing on the baby - might be unusual though.

What about cooking some meals you can freeze for the first couple hectic weeks after the babe comes?

Also treat yourself, if you can't afford it have a "at home spa day" with friends that you can do each other's nails/toes.

@pregnantbee: thank you for the great suggestions. no moola for the mani pedi or shopping but i could pamper myself at home and i do need to get on those meals. now if only my husband would be patient enough for me to go on a shopping trip longer than 10 minutes.

@MerryC: deep cleaning the house! i did this today. thank you.

@yoursilverlining: its harder to nap than i would have thought. mostly because i dont breath so hot laying down but i am resting alot and trying to just watch movies and be still. It's hard for me because i am a proactive type.

@cvbee: OMG, that is such a good suggestion but i would be lying if i didnt say the thought makes me sick to my stomach. not only because i would be waiting and would be pregnant for 3 and a half more weeks but also because it means i definitely will have to miss my friends wedding in Seattle. I know it may happen though. GOD i hope not!

@travelingbrit: Thanks Doll! Dont worry you will be so ready to deliver when its time that the pain will be an afterthought. or at least thats how i feel.

@anacarlin: 11 days! you poor dear! but you made it and i suppose we all do, one way or another. in the grand scheme i know even 3 and a half weeks is not that long but my god it's like waiting for summer vacation, that last month of school. It's also harder when you just don't know when and when others are popping out babes around you. I wont be inducing without medical reasons so i know it will make me wince waiting while others induce or just have good luck and labor early or on time and are holding their babies. BUt i WILL get my baby and so long as he is healthy and ready that's the most important thing to me.

@MsLipGloss: yes personal time is key! that said i hope neither of us is waiting 4 more weeks or going insanely past our due dates. We shall see!!!

@MrsMcCarthy: Eeeeee! TWW! :D So exciting!

I hit 38 weeks this Thursday . . . and I am starting to alternate between *ready!* mode and OMFG mode. I took a bath on Sunday night (for the first time in a looooong time) and it was lovely! Definitely take a few baths. And I am totally planning on getting a pedi and scheduling a hair appointment between now and *the big day* just so I can feel as prepared as possible. I have also been doing more reading and watching movies . . . just lots of quiet/personal time. :)

Haha I agree with @cvbee. I had a big belly and everyone assures me LO would be here "any day now" well that totally backfired and made her late arrival (11 days late!) seem completely unbearable. Go out with your SO, read a book, rent or go see any movie you want, I even ironed baby onesies I was so bored. But the further away you think it is the easier it will be

Only 2 weeks left! Wow! I can't imagine how that would feel. At 23 weeks I'm feeling anxious about the upcoming delivery. I'm such a control freak, that not knowing the exact date and time is killing me! I know the feeling is only going to get worse the closer to the due date.

I say just relax and enjoy some quiet time while you can. Wishing you a happy and stress-free delivery!

Take naps! Sleep in! Make a time consuming meal you've always wanted to tackle. Curl up on the sofa with some tea and a good book. Get a massage. Get a mani/pedi. Get your hair cut/colored. Stock your kitchen with your favorite treats and snacks. Sleep in. Sleep in. Sleep in.

Lots of date nights or other relaxedtime with hubby, definitely.

Pedi, haircut, etc. Window/online shop for pp clothes or cute jammies.

Final clean of the house and extra frequency on the laundry, dishes, and such so theres as little as possible to come home to.

@MrsMccarthy: I'd go get a pedi (be careful with their foot massage if you don't want to go into labor early), get a haircut, eat lunch at your favorite restaurants, cook and freeze some meals, go see a movie by yourself, wash all 0-3 baby clothes if you haven't. Lots of date nights if possible. Definitely find something that you can best do when you have chunks of time because those are hard to find once baby is here. I speak from experience, as my little guy is 2 months old tomorrow.

@mrskc: ya know i really should do that. i am sure my husband would love for me to stop just collecting piles of memories and actually compile them neatly.

@lemondrop: carseat is in but we need to do the inspection. this is unfortunately husband dependent and he is the king of never being in the mood. i hate nagging.

@TurtleDoves: a nightly bath is genius! i need a good novel. i thought about giving shades a grey a gander even though it is so not my style of book. ME time is super important.

oh Lordy....I can't fathom this. I-CAN'T-FATHOM-THIS. 2 weeks left.....I personally think that's aweeesome and it's no time at all, but of course I totally get that you're super impatient/excited/stoked.
I would honestly take a BUNCH of "me time". If you haven't lost your mucus plug, may I suggest a nightly bath with candles and a novel? You probably won't have time for that after baby arrives except on very rare occasions.

lol, those darn TWW's!

Get your carseat installed if you haven't already! I waited until 38 weeks for ours, and the baby came a week later. Luckily the fire department was able to fit us in, it was good peace of mind to have them check it since we had done it wrong.

Lots of walks! Other than that, I worked up until labor started since my replacement needed a lot of help, so I was in a mad rush to finish before the baby came.

Ahhh you're so close! Hmmm I'm not sure what you could do to keep busy. What about making a pregnancy memory book? Like a scrapbook or make an online photo book to remember your pregnancy. If you haven't already, cook and freeze some meals for after the baby arrives.

hello ladies. i am 38 weeks and 1 day today. I vacillate between extreme boredom/ impatience and feelings that i can't believe it is so soon. the hardest and most exciting part though is just not knowing when it will happen. even in the two week wait of conception there is a definitive date but with this it's anytime between now and 3 weeks or so. Do any of you seasoned (or unseasoned ) ladies have any suggestions for making this time less itchy? I am getting in a 3-5 mile walk everyday and some yoga but for the most part my energy level is low so the less physical the activity is the better. thanks!
