I have never had to deal with this before, but what I would do is reply to the seller and include the excerpt about Amazon's 3rd party return policy in your reply and say you'd like a full refund. Mention that if they cannot do this, you will open a dispute with Amazon.

This way you give them a chance to follow the rules - if they don't, you can force them.

Have you ever opened a dispute? I ordered a bunch of laptop sleeves for a project, and it when the order was complete I realized it would take too long to ship. I canceled the order w/in 24-hours but got a message saying "sorry, we already shipped it." Ok, whatever, I'll just return it when it gets here. The item got here yesterday and I immediately processed the return, only to get a message today saying "sorry, return freight is too much [item came from china], we can offer a $5 refund and you keep the item."

Ummm NO. It was like $150 in the first place and I have no need for 20 laptop bags. Would you try to work w/ the seller or open a dispute directly with amazon? Their page talking about the return policy says to refer to amazon return policy for 3rd party sellers, which says "Third party sellers must either provide a return address within the United States or pay for return shipping to an international address. "

So annoyed right now, I did not need this today!
