@MrsSRS: haha ah I see, lol I thought it was like a wedge. I get it now.

@LCTBQE: @T.H.O.U.: Yes our mattress is firm. I didnt realized a firm mattress hurt your hips during pregnancy! I'll look into a topper

I agree with my hips hurting on our firm mattress. I just flip 100 times per night. What has helped is a pillow on my back and a pillow on my front so I'm not perpendicular to the bed exactly but more like a 45 degree. My OB said as long as your butt cheek is off the mattress that counts as "on your side". Basically anything but flat.

No, like a mattress pad or mattress. It was hard to roll over because you sink in and I felt like a floundering whale, but a bit better than a regular mattress once I was settled.

I can generally fall asleep but wake up in the middle of the night with terrible insomnia and can't get back to sleep for hours. The only thing that helps is a combo of not going to sleep until 11pm, my snoogle, and taking 1/2 a Unisom and a Pepcid AC when I turn the lights out. Otherwise I wake up totally wired and with heartburn at 3am. Our mattress is super-soft, and I think that helps, too. Maybe you could try one of those foam egg carton toppers if yours is firm?

Going to the chiro every week helped the most. With my first baby I took a warm Epsom salt bath every night. With my second I had a few sips of my husband's wine or beer a few times a week. Memory foam helped my hips a bit.

I'm at the point where I have trouble falling asleep so I've been taking one Unisom before bed. It's really helped!

Hi for you all of you in your third trimester how are you surviving at night? I cant get comfortable no matter what. I cant remember if it was this bad last time. My hips hurt from sleeping on my side and I cant tell if its better or worse with the pillows. How are you guys coping?
