@abbydabbydoodlebug: We went from a 3T at 2y to a 4T and sometimes 5T at 2y9m. I have a kid >90% for height and weight though. So we def. go through sizes quite quickly but growth has slowed compared to before.

DD has always been average, little even (compared to the kids her age at pre-school). But she normally fits a size up. I noticed that a lot of 3T/4T stuff ran about the same size depending on brand and style - I thought she'd be in that size for a very long time.

I was wrong. DD has grown a crazy amount since she turned 2. Just this morning, she has officially grown out of size 116 (5-6) tunic from H&M. She's 3.5 yrs old. That particular style ran small/shrunk in the wash, but holy moly - I did not expect this!

My advice: get 4T

With my son, once we got to 18 months, he grew much more slowly and tends to stay in a size for a year.

My daughter is 25 months and her growth has been a lot more unpredictable.

My kid was in 3T for a year and then 4T for 4 months. At 3.5, she is in 5T.

Depends on your kid. My LO was in 3t pants for spring and summer but shot up in height to 4t. She wears 3t tops and 4t pants.

Ok, thanks! I think I'll just bite the bullet and get her fall clothes. Worse comes to worse, she wears it a couple times this spring and if it doesn't fit in the fall, I can sell it! Lol.

My LO is tall and fairly big for his age at 2.5, but nowhere near 4t yet! I think you'll be safe with 3t, most probably.

My 2.5 year old seems to have flown through 2T and is more in 3T now. She's about average height and weight. A lot of pants are too slim and long (she has more of a chubby toddler shape than a slim preschooler shape). In the fall she was still fitting in 24 month.

Unfortunately it's probably one of those things that depend on your kid.

My DD is turning 2 in a couple weeks and I've been buying 3t clothes recently. I figure dresses will just be a little long, same as shirts and shorts. Pants I've been buying in 2t since her legs are short.

I'm looking to use my Gymboree bucks and wanted to buy sale stuff and it's all winter stuff. I live in Texas, so it'll start getting warm t shirt weather in March/April and won't cool down again until Oct/Nov. My question is this: How much did your kids grow after they turned 2? I'm not sure if I should get 3t for the next cold season, or buy 4t. She's 50% height, but chunky.
