@sorrycharlie: I just posted about this as well...looks like the 4 month regression or WW? We can have a pity party together...although I am too exhausted to party.

Sounds like the 4 month sleep regression! Ours lasted three weeks and then LO suddenly went back to sleeping 11 hours at night.

I'm going to suggest it is the 4 month sleep regression because LO went through the SAME exact thing. For over 8 weeks I think it lasted, hers started just before 4 months old. Sadly, CIO became our last option. Since you don't want to do that (I know how hard it is, it sucks!), hopefully she grows out of it soon!

@SorryCharlie: I can't believe the ridiculous stuff people say about *spoiling* babies . . . and a sick one at that. *augh* They should just keep their assvice to themselves.

We definitely had a regression at 4 months . . . and my LO was never a great sleeper to start with (she has reflux - we are finally seeing a Ped GI specialist this week!).

I'm interested in this too. LO is 16 weeks and has been doing the every 2-3 hours since 12 weeks. Before that he had been working up to a 6 hour stretch.

@regberadaisy: seriously - was I supposed to just let my miserable and stuffed up baby wail? Lol. People. But yes I keep telling myself it'll end at some point! I've survived for about a month now, so that has to count for something :)

@sorrycharlie: hahaha that's silly!
But seriously, every single mom in the May Mamas Group went through it. It was horrible. Like there was no light at the end of the tunnel. But don't fret there is a end and like all things babies it's a phase. :D

@regberadaisy: noooo! Lol. Although honestly the idea of sleep regression that makes me feel better as opposed to people telling me it's because I spoiled her when she was sick (???).

I am SO sorry to say she is likely entering the 4 month sleep regression. It was HORRIBLE. I longed for nights where she slept a 2-3 hour stretch so even though it doesn't sound like it you are lucky right now! Ours was 2.5 months long with her waking up every hour on the hours. NOTHING we did helped. :(

I hope your's is short!

My great sleeper is no more. My daughter is 4 months old, but almost a month ago she caught a really bad cold. One night she slept her normal 7-8 hours then nursed, then another 3-4....then woke up sick. The next night was every hour, and that whole week was every 1-3 hours (at night). That first night being sick, she also swaddle weaned herself by having a meltdown until I took her arms out, and we never looked back.

She's been heathy for 2 weeks now (aside from minor stuffiness) and still is waking every 2-3 hours! The other night she slept 4 and it was a miracle. The thing is, she actually is hungry...she will nurse aggressively and go back to sleep.

What the heck am I doing wrong? Growth spurt that never ends? Regression? Still sick? Adjusting to no swaddle?

She doesn't wake herself up flailing or jumping (she's in our room so I've witnessed this). Just..wakes up. She also takes 3-4 40m naps throughout the day. Not willing to CIO yet.
