DD's 4 month sleep regression was awwwwwful (awake every 20 minutes LITERALLY all night), but it only lasted a few days. DS only had a couple of nights where he awoke at 12 and 2 for a paci.
Our only lingering effect is that DD now wakes at 4:30-5am for a bottle, instead of 6-6:30. That's really it, though, and it has been consistent.

I'm worried about this too as mine just turned 4 months today. She woke at 3am two nights in a row, but was back to 5 am today and already took a nap this morning.

Oh man, I don't want to hear this! DD's sleep has been wonderfully awesome and predictable. She's just about to turn 3 months, so I only have a little while left of this awesomeness? Maybe she'll skip the 4 month sleep regression? I can hope...

4 month sleep regression rocked our world and LO is almost 5 months and still waking up 2x. From what I read it's normal, i guess we were just spoiled because she was STTN weeks 9 - 15! I

@hilsy85: i concur with the pumping. I've been doing that all along. as soon as L started STTN, i would wake up engorged and pump one side and feed him from the other. It's how I built my stash. When he wakes in the middle of the night, I just don't pump the next morning.

@PrincessBaby: yup, and then over time it became more bad nights, lol. I personally would let her sleep and just hand express a bit or pump a bit til you're comfortable, but totally up to you! :)

@PrincessBaby: omg, i would SO not wake her up!! haha. what you described is similar to what's been going on with L as well. He started STTN at 8 weeks, and has been good all along with only a few random nights here and there with a middle of night wake up. Well starting about 6 days ago now, he just started waking TWICE during the night for a feeding! Twice! even before he started STTN at 8 weeks, he had been down to one night waking. I am pretty sure this is "late" 4 month sleep regression (he will be 5 months next week). And like you, i've also been working on an earlier bedtime. Last night he went down at 8pm (omg!), woke up at midnight to eat and than was up at 6am for good, which overall was not bad.....so basically my theory is - if the baby is sleeping, let them! do what you need to do, because when they wake, it's all about them! lol

@hilsy85: Should I wake her up? My personal policy is to not wake a sleeping baby but she's been asleep almost 12 hours and my boobs are hurting!

Yup. NO consistency whatsoever for us, and it's still like that at almost 6 months. I hope that this is just a little blip for you guys and H goes back to to STTN!

My daughter (just made 4 months) had started STTN at around 8 weeks, but the past couple of weeks she's been having a 3:30ish wake up...I figured this was bc we've been trying to get her bedtime in the 9pm hour range instead of her previous 10:30-11 ( she likes to party all night!). Fine. Well Saturday night she had TWO wake ups- one at 2am and one at 4am. I figured that we were about to be unwilling participants in the 4 Month Sleep Regression...

Well last night she went right down at 9pm, and is STILL sleeping and it's 8am.

Is this how a sleep regression works? Does it go all over the board?

I'm debating waking her up- my boobs are so uncomfortable...But I know she's going through a growth spurt and a wonder weak leap, so I kind of feel like she must need the sleep...

Will tonight be awful? How did your 4 month old's sleep change? Was it all over the place?
