I'm with you on the sleep regression, although it started at 2 months for her right after her shots. Before that she was sleeping through the night.
I was coming here to read up on rice cereal too, isn't it funny how these 2 are hitting everything at the same time!

yes wait until 6 months. the 4 month sleep regression occurs because your baby is much more alert, and not because they're hungry.

We did cereal at 5.5 months. I also don't believe that it helps with sleep. I personally would hang in there with the sleep instead of starting cereal.

I heard that it's an old wives tale and doesn't help with sleep. My doctor said to wait till 6 months before any solids, but he also said that if we wanted we could get the formula that's thickened with cereal to help with her reflux when she was 3 months (we didn't because she had a constipation issue).... so I guess it's not the end of the world if you did it earlier.

But personally I wouldn't give my LO cereal for sleep just because I don't believe it would work. Hope your LO's sleep gets better and you can get some rest!

We started just a little bit of cereal at around month 5. She didn't like it though so I stopped. LO was EBF too and is still nursing about 90% of the time at 10 months old.
Do what makes you comfortable and go with your gut feeling!
Her sleep will/should get better soon!

In EVERYTHING that I've read about starting solids they all said NEVER to put cereal in the bottle. EVER. The sleep-thing will solve itself - I wouldn't give your LO solids just yet. Maybe formula? But no solids. Talk to your baby's doctor - all of this is just from my experience and opinion!

I had the same exeperience. LO was 4 months when she stopped sleeping through the night. A lot of people suggested that to me. I didn't listen. I was adamantly against it until 6 months. She'll be 6 months in 2 weeks, we just tried cereal a few times this week. She's still not a good sleeper so I'm glad I didn't even bother trying so early.

My LO is going through the 4 month sleep regression. Everyone is telling me to start putting some cereal in a bottle for her at night but she's been exclusively breastfed her whole life and cereal so soon just doesn't sit right with me as I view it as a form of supplementation, which I was really trying to avoid.

When did you start cereal?
