Yes, definitely and DD is 16 weeks today. Her night sleep is only mildly affected but her naps are off the chart! 40 minutes at the most (used to be an hour and a half) and her wake cycles are a lot shorter too. I attribute it to a Wonder Week (from week 15 - 19 typically) and I think her brain is just so busy learning. I have the Wonder Weeks book and from what I read, sleeping less is common at this time.

Been having his problem for several weeks and DS is 16 weeks. We were away 2 weeks in august and I think it's that and he is way overtired. I'm reading that healthy sleep book mentioned and am determined to get him sleeping more than 9.5 hrs at night and 3.5 during the day. It's just not enough for him and he has become increasingly fussy since 12 weeks.

My LO will be 5 months on Sunday. Since he was maybe 3.5 mo. he has been a terrible napper. He will fall asleep while nursing so I will try to put him down in his crib and as soon as he's down, he's wide awake and smiling at me. Other times I try laying next to him until he falls asleep and again, wide awake the second I try creeping away. If by chance I do get him to nap its for 20 minutes tops. Super frustrating! Thankfully nights haven't been too bad with the exception of a week right after turning 4 mo. (he was up every 2 hours). I wasn't sure if it was a sleep regression or growth spurt.

Around this age, LO became a chronic 40-minute napper. He was still mostly fine at night. It's a hard age: They aren't sleepy newborns anymore but they have a tough time self-soothing, too. LO snapped out of it sometime after 6 months, but I know that's probably little consolation!

Yes, mine did for sure.

I was convinced that since he was getting older he was growing out of his 3 naps and only needed 2. In reality he was overtired and needed the naps more than ever, but just couldn't sleep. And then night wakings started happening on top of it. And then I read Healthy Sleep and realized that I needed to get the naps on track again, and that the 3 naps would be quite normal for many months to come. It took one night of a very early bedtime and a bit more work on getting him down for his naps early enough, but we did get back on track.

Good luck!

LO has been a terrible napper the past few weeks. At first I thought it might be caused by a grandparents visit, but it hasn't gotten any better. I just realized that she's almost 4 months, and it could be a sleep regression. Did anyone's 4 month sleep regression only affect naps? Got any tips?
