The baby is never going to be left unattended on the changing pad so it's not like you're depending on those sides to keep the baby contained. My son is a week shy of 5 months now and honestly I don't feel like there is really an advantage to the 4-sided changing pad. Is there a benefit to the 4 sided? I figured the 4 sided might be harder to find a cover to fit over it nicely. Is baby more secure on a 4 sided pad? What kind do you have? </p>
