@bpcmarj: Good luck! FWIW, when my mom had me, she wasn't dilated till 36 hours before I was born, then was 1cm for what seemed like a really long time, then suddenly was 6cm and I was born 2 hours later. Hopefully you go quickly like that.

@bpcmarj: Bummer that you aren't yet dilated but you know that can change on a dime! Great to know that and end point is in sight : )

Thank you for all the well wishes!

Midwife's appointment was fine, but I am not dilated AT ALL. Totally closed she said. But, she said I could start dilating as soon as I have contractions, so that's what I'm hoping for! I'll have an ultrasound on Wednesday and if fluid levels are good, I'll be induced next Monday. If fluid is low, I'll be induced that night. One way or another it looks like baby will be here in a week!

I went past my due date by 5 days, I was still going to work and that helped a teeny bit. I also walked a lot but ended up being induced due to other complications

LO was born 40+9. I was induced 40+8. No real advice, just hang in there. I accepted the fact that my body just wasn't going to go into labor on it's own which was disappointing but in the end we still got the same result. I only became tired of win pregnant when I went over 40 weeks :) and that was mostly from anticipation.

I'm headed to the hospital for another NST today. Then my midwife said to come by after and she'll check my cervix. She hasn't done this yet so I am anxious to find out what's going on!

Here's hoping our baby girl comes to join us soon!

i'm at 40+3....i'm beyond ready. every little cramp, twinge, 'feeling' i'm like is this it?! i have absolutely no signs of labor either, so i know (somewhat) what you are feeling. i am, however, scheduled for an induction on wednesday because i am impatient and can't wait much longer...that and i am beyond uncomfortable and my hips can't take much more. good luck and hopefully labor happens soon for you!
we have just been 'relaxing' and watching tv, going to the movies...nothing too crazy, just things to keep me from realizing that i am beyond uncomfortable.

LO came on her due date but I was still so anxious about it because she dropped early and the doctor kept telling me she thought I would go into labor soon, weeks before I did. I tried all sorts of things to induce labor naturally, but of course they didn't work. Way easier said than done, but try to relax and enjoy your last few days baby free. Maybe you can go on a date night to a nice restaurant, to a movie, try to get in those last minute things that you won't be doing in a long time.

So, I am now 40+6 with no sign of labor really. My parents flew in on Wednesday and we have been spending everyday walking around and trying to keep my mind off this due date. NST on Friday was fine, our baby girl is doing really well and my blood pressure is still great. We have an ultrasound scheduled for Wednesday if needed. My midwife is being great and reminding me that baby will come when she's ready.

For those of you who went past your due date, how did you keep your mind off of wondering when labor would start? Did you do anything to try to get labor started?
