Ugh! So last night we had to put her to bed at 6 since she woke up from her nap at 2 and refused a later nap. She woke up at 2 this morning and after failing to get her back to sleep my husband got me. She finally fell back asleep but I just co-slept with her until around 4 and then my husband took her and she slept until 5:15.
@Ellewoods84- I put her back in her crib yesterday morning to go wash my face and my husband came running because he saw on the monitor that she rolled onto her belly and spit up (reflux baby).
Thanks everyone- sorry we are all so tired but it does make me feel better to know I'm not alone!

@charleysmom: yeah....it's hard! When they refuse that late nap bedtime can be a disaster from staying up too long! Well what happens if you just leave her? Does she cry?

In the same boat with my 9 month old! No matter when he goes to bed he wakes up at no later than 5. He naps great and goes to bed great but gosh is it EARLY.

I feel your pain! Hugs  We have had, and sometimes still have this problem with DS, who is also 6mos. (Though he usually wakes up at 1-2am also, but goes back to sleep pretty easily) It was really rough for a few weeks. Now he still wakes at 4ish but will go back to sleep if I feed him or bring him to our bed for the last stretch.

We are going through this same thing with our 6 month old (plus increased night wakings). It's so brutal. I think we're going to try to push his 6-6:30 bedtime to 7:15 for at least a week and see if we get results. I'm so tired.

Mine was over a year when she did this, so it might not be comparable to your situation, but anyways. I had the early morning wakeup would not go back to sleep nonscense and put up with it for several weeks. One day, I decided to just put her back in her crib, so I could use the washroom. She screamed bloody murder for 2 min and then went back to sleep until 7. And did the same thing for a solid month afterwards. It was always exactly 2 min. So weird. Anyways, might be worth checking her and then just leaving your LO there after for 5-10 min and see what happens.

my LO was STTN from about 3 or 4 months to 6 months, and then we had to deal with the dreaded 4.30am wakeup. it is surprisingly and horrifyingly common. i think it's close enough to actual wakeup time that some kids have a hard time making the link to the last sleep cycle. sounds like this has been aggravated for your LO by daylight savings. i would give it a few weeks to see if it goes back to normal.

with my LO, these wakeups lasted a really long time and eventually i gave in and started nursing him back to sleep in the early morning. this felt like a serious regression since he didn't have MOTN feedings since month 3 or 4, but i was at the end of my rope waking up at 4.30 every day.

Thanks, @Ellewoods84. It's difficult to get her bedtime later because she almost always will refuse to take a late nap and then will be an overtired, cranky mess. We are going to sleep train in a couple of weeks when my husband is on vacation. I told him we are going to have to leave her in the crib until a more acceptable wake up time. Hopefully, she gets the hint.

Ugh that's brutal. DST moved our wake up time earlier also, it sucks! The only thing I can think is that she's really not tired anymore. If she's STTN, and getting around 10 hours, plus 4 hours of day sleep, I think she's pretty much maxed out. I know you said pushing bedtime back doesnt work....it doesn't work for us either. Maybe try pushing bedtime back by 15 minutes each day til it's around 7-730 and eventually she will move her wake up time? Give it a try for maybe a week? Hope it improves soon for you!

My daughter will be 6 months next week. She has pretty much been STTN since about 3 months (once in a while will wake up a couple of times but go right back to sleep). She is on formula and we dream feed her at 9 pm and she hasn't had a middle of the night bottle since 3 months. Since DLS, she has been waking extremely early- between 4 and 4:45 am. We have tried putting her to bed earlier, later, more nap time, less nap time. We've just been rolling with the early wake ups but I'm starting to get exhausted. I tried giving her a bottle this morning at 4:30, kept lights low, tried rocking her- she yawns and rubs her eyes but will not fall back asleep. We at least used to be able to get her back to sleep and just co-sleep to a more reasonable hour but that's not happening anymore. She is teething but it doesn't seem to bother her- she wakes up happy and wants to play. Any suggestions? She generally goes to sleep between 6 and 6;30 pm and naps total about 4 hours. Thanks!
