It's weird. She is doing everything exactly like I would. She is so sweet and patient with him. But he is still screaming his head off. I looked in after about 30 and he stopped for a sec when he saw me. I don't know what to think.

No, luckily I have nowhere important to go. Was just having her try bedtime with him because there are times when I will need to leave in the future. I feel bad for her and my son. And it puts a lot of stress on me because we don't have family close and my husband works A LOT. So I will literally be here 24/7/365. :(

When you say stay home until it passes...will that usually work or does it make it worse and worse to where I will never be able to leave until he's like 8 years old??

4.5 months seems pretty early to be developing separation anxiety... Most babies seem to not develop this until 8 months or so. Is your babysitter going through the checklist (diaper, hungry, tired)? And I'm sure you have done this, but are you briefing the sitter on LO's favorite things to distract (favorite toys, favorite songs, the mirror, a lovey, etc)?
Hope things improve soon for you! Especially if you have to go to work :(

At this point I would take him back and let her go. 45 minutes is a long time for a 4.5 month old to cry. Especially when he's crying out of fear. Are you guys just goin on a date night? If you're not going to work or somewhere you can't skip I would maybe cool it on babysitters for a little while until he gets over this bout of separation anxiety.

Sooo I'm in my living room right now listening to my 4.5 month old scream while our awesome babysitter comforts him. I'm scared to leave because he did this last week to another girl and it seemed to really stress her out, which freaked me out.

He NEVER cries with me or my husband. I'm a new SAHM... Could three weeks have already made him this scared of new people?

Also. Family babysitters are not an option anymore. He has been going for 45 minutes straight now. I feel like its unreasonable to expect her to deal with this!!!! Or are babysitters used to this??

:( help.
