@Swoggette: Thanks for sharing your story! Yeah, I'm pretty sure the first and the last cycle were anovulatory. Or it could have been that my first cycle and last cycle were just one long one. I only had spotting for a day about 30 days post discontinuation of birth control pills. The full six day period may have signaled the end of one long 60 day cycle versus a 30 day one. I had like five days of positive OPKs last cycle, which freaked me out. This cycle I only had one day, so that seems more normal.

We'll see if this current cycle is ovulatory. I'm tracking temps, so it will give me a good idea of whether I am ovulating or not. I'm okay knowing that this process might take several months. Sorry about your CP :( Hoping you get a sticky BFP this cycle!

@thepaperbutterfly I thought I would chime in my 2 cents here. I also recently stopped bcp's (January) after a 9 yr stint on them. Right away had my period, then the longest cycle I have ever had (41 days), wonky cm and it was annovulatory I suspect. Next cycle I ovulated quickly (used opks), cm was good and consistent with O and I had a bfp on 10 dpo and it unfortunately ended in a chemical pregnancy. Now going into my 3rd cycle I was unsure when I would O after what happened and I had my surge last week cd13 and ok cm and now just hanging out waiting. So I fully believe coming off bcp can take a while for you body to regulate. And yay for Ovulation! Good luck

@MrsD2442: Thanks for the advice :) Yeah, last cycle I had 5 days of positive OPKs XD This cycle I only had one day of positive OPKs, which was last night, so I think things are starting to normalize. I've been tracking my temp, and pre-ovulation it stays around 97.4. Last cycle I only started tracking my temp post-ovulation (or what I thought post-ovulation was) and it was around 98. If there is a temp rise then I probably ovulated this cycle. I was actually surprised when I got a full 6 day period last month. I was so scared I was going to have post-pill amenorrhoea :$

@thepaperbutterfly: There's a possibility that your body needs some more time to adjust after BCPs. A lot of people begin ovulating right after stopping them, but some people take a little longer. I'd keep tracking the temps and maybe consider an OPK during your next cycle, just to see if that indicates anything. :goodluck:

Thanks for the advice ladies :) I just got an LH surge tonight, so hopefully I'll ovulate. I've been tracking temps and they have all been around 97.4 deg F, so I was pretty sure I hadn't ovulated yet . I was almost fired from work 2 weeks ago, and I ran out of my Synthroid (I have hypothyroidism) and missed 4 days because of that, so my body is probably out of sync. I did consider PCOS, but I'm really thin, not hairy, and have no relatives with infertility or PCOS. I have Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, and because of that I've had a lot of health problems and have come to expect the worse in regards to anything health related. But EDS is unrelated to infertility.

Not an expert by any means, but I believe that EWCM is only an indicator that your body is getting ready to O, not that it will actually happen--the only way to know for sure that O has happened is to temp. I hope it happens soon!

It's possible that your body is gearing up to ovulate (hence the EWCM), but just hasn't got there yet. I have PCOS and there was one month between stress and getting sick I had 14 days of EWCM before I actually ovulated. It was crazy! Not saying you have PCOS, but it's very possible your body is trying but isn't quite ready.

So this post is pretty much about the title. After being on BCP for years, I stopped in Feb 2015, and had spotting about a month later, and a regular 6 day period a month after that. I started tracking cervical mucus this month, and I'm on my 5th day of EW Cervical mucus but OPK's are still negative. Prior to the EW Cervical mucus it was a bit watery. I read online that most women have about 3-5 days of EW Cervical Mucus prior to ovulation, and as they get into their 30s it is about 1-2 days. I'm 30 years old, so I'm guessing I would be on the lower end. The EW Cervical Mucus has become more abundant, but there is still no LH surge and I'm starting to worry >_> I had an LH surge last month, but I wasn't really tracking my cervical mucus in March. I feel like my body is confused after BCP. Is there anyone else with 5+ days of EW Cervical mucus prior to ovulation? Anyone else with some insight into the situation? Thanks :)
