Ordered more pizza and 4 dozen cider donuts.

They also said if we run out of pizza and people want more we can just order more! They just make it there at the farmstand. Yay.

For 32 adults, and 24 kids, you definitely need more pizza

@mrskc: problem is I am doing most of them gluten free, and some gluten and dairy free for some of the kids with intolerances.... Maybe I will buy half and make half to make it a little easier.

@hellobeeboston: Like others suggested more pizza and donuts. Is there any way you can order the cupcakes? Take it from someone who baked and decorated 40 cupcakes for LO's first birthday this past weekend. I even baked the cupcakes ahead of time and it stressed me out with everything else i was trying to do. You're going to have enough on your plate as it is.

So think doubling the pizza and adding more donuts is good- I LOVE cider donuts and would be sad to not get one. I think adding pumpkin bars instead of more cupcakes would be good, but I would do whichever is easier between more cupcakes or the bars. If you also have the big cheese and cracker spread I think that's good enough. Sounds really pretty at a barn in an orchard!

Oh with the cupcakes, if it's from a box remember the box often doesn't make as many as it says on the package, at least in my experience. Even when I was pregnant and not sampling the batter :)

@looch: I have made them in a 9x12 pan and then just cut them into sqaures and add some frosting...

I have made one similar to this in the past, but I make them gluten free:

@locavore_mama: yeah, I think you are right... More pizza. I didn't want that to be the main food for some reason, but it's good and easy and everyone likes it!

Kids ages range. We will have 5 kids under 1. Maybe 4 under 2. And then the ages go up till 11.

@hellobeeboston: how old are the kids? If they are 2 and above I would make more cupcakes bc most parents will give them cupcakes by then.
It seems pizza is the main item so I would ask for another sheet. One sheet is not enough for even 32 adults imo.

Ok , yeah I definitely need more.

I will double the pizza - that will be 40 pieces.

3 or 4 dozen cider donuts.

50-ish cupcakes. Yikes.... I should start baking them Thursday probably huh?

Maybe I will stick with 40ish cupcake and do cookies and pumpkin bars.

Honestly, we didn't think everyone we invited to the party would come and they all are! Fun!

I think you have a nice variety already, but maybe up the quantity a little bit? Then again, I always over prepare... Ha! Maybe some cookies if you want to supplement your cupcakes? Easier to make and each batch makes quite a few!

I think you are okay on the cupcakes If you increase the cider donuts to three dozen. That will give you 76 sweets for 56 people. Some people will skip dessert, while others may want to sample both kinds.

The rest of your menu is very munchy type of food and you seem to have alot of it already. Instead of adding tortilla chips to your already crunchy salty offerings I'd get more pizza.

I think because you have a lot of activities you should make sure to have enough food for everyone. People get hungry. I'd be annoyed if I didn't get a piece of pizza and/or a cupcake. I'd go with more quantities of the food you have before adding something else. Sounds like a fun party!

24 donuts
40 cupcakes
1 sheet of pizza
56 people.

I think you need more of something there. I would do 50 cupcakes and 3 dozen donuts. Also, the sheet of pizza, how many does that feed?

While this is an in-between meals time, people always like food. I may say forget the pizza and have some more appetizers instead like mini meatballs, hot dip and chips and pretzels. Munchies plus sweets is always a good combo.

1 sheet of pizza doesn't sound like enough...if it's not possible to get more, I'd skip it all together.

Maybe instead of cupcakes, do a sheet cake. 40 sounds like not enough.

I'm probably the worse person to respond to this, because I ALWAYS over prepare food. I had so much left overs after my kids combined bday party it was ridiculous.... But, I say order more donuts for sure. And, depending on what others think, go for the 7-layer dip.

I just don't like attending parties where I leave hungry, so I always make sure there is a lot of food :)

LO's first birthday is on Saturday! It snuck up on us as we sold our house and have been looking for a new one, which we did, and now it's here! Need some advise about food for the party.

We will have 32 adults and 24 kids. We rented space in a barn at an orchard... They will be doing pumpkin decorating, games, and hayrides for the littles.

The party is from 2-4, so I don't want to do a ton of food, but don't want to have too little... Here is what I am planning:

Cider/water/boxes of organic milk
Fruit pouches for the little ones
Beer & wine
1 sheet of cheese pizza (orchard provides)
2 dozen cider donuts (orchard) should I do more?
Caramelized onion dip with chips/veggies (sister bringing)
Veggie tray
Fruit tray
Chips/pretzels in bowls

Cupcakes - I was going to make 40 assuming everyone won't have, but maybe I should make more?

I feel like that is not enough, but there will be a lot of a activities going on... Help! Want to keep it easy.

Maybe a 7-layer dip and tortilla chips also?
