LO was 9 days between bowel movements so i took her to the Dr. She told me to give LO one ounce of apple juice + one ounce of water two times a day for three days. My LO drank the juice mixture twice and produced the grossest poopy diaper a few hours later.

I would suggest changing formula or moms diet. Get one that has the predigested milk protien. Milk and soy backed up my breastfed baby. Then juice and prunes.

@Mrs. Yoyo: @chopsuey119: they gave her prunes and she did poop, but it was two small hard poops and she cried the entire time. My friend is mostly concerned not because of the lack of poop, but the painful hard stools the baby is having. :(

Prunes if she hasn't already. Seriously, they always work.

Have your friend give her LO juice! Apple, pear, prune!
My LO was super constipated around that age too. Man. Do you remember the long hard poop she pooped?! :( So sad.

not for me, for a friend! She's asking my advice and I can't help her since Wagon Jr. always had the opposite problem: diarrhea! It's a little funny because we were college roommates and between her constipation and my diarrhea one of us was always in the bathroom. So sad.

Any tips for a constipated baby? They've seen the doctor and a specialist and no big issue was found... she was on meds which helped, but they took her off of them last week and she was fine for a couple of days, but apparently tonight she had a really hard time pooping and was in a lot of pain :( for solids they've only fed her things like squash, pear, oatmeal... things with fiber that should help her poop...

poor little girl...

any tips??
