We also went with the 5 point harness booter-Britax Frontier- we LOVE it and so does DS1. I will be getting one for DS2 in a few months when he turns 2.

Agree with going with a 5pt harness for older child. We have a Graco Nautilus in our car and Evenflo Maestro in grandparents car.

@T.H.O.U.: yes she's already FF, we are replacing her car seat in my car and putting that one in DH's car so each girl has one in there. I'm just trying to figure out what is best, looks like I need to look into the 5 point boosters!

When I needed a new car seat for my two and a half year old I went with a five-point booster from Graco. The difference is it doesn't recline quite as much as a convertible, it's taller, and it can't rear face.

For your older DD I would do the harness/booster combo - like @T.H.O.U.: we went with Britax Frontier. Its a FF 5 point harness that can be converted to a high back booster - lasts 9 years.

FWIW, we went with the Britax Frontier when we needed to get the baby a convertible (we gave him her old one and got her the new booster). Advantage being its easier for her to get in and out of (low sides) and eventually we can just take the harness off and use it with a belt (probably age 5-6 for us).

Is she FF already? The big difference is that a 5 point harness booster cannot be RF.

Can someone please describe the difference for me? I need to get 2 new car seats, one of my baby and one for my toddler. I have the baby one picked out but i'm trying to decide if i just double up on the one i have picked out for the 9 month old or if i should be considering a 5 point booster? Please explain the difference.
