@Ali-oop: I know what you mean. I actually still nurse to sleep for the most part so it gets him drowsy but “awake”. For a couple of weeks I played with him in his crib to help with the transition as well. I hope that helps and good luck!!

My son was the same and honestly I failed at everything with him. I finally weaned him at 20 months but other than CIO or letting your husband try to comfort him it is hard. We did transition our son to a floor bed probably around a year which allowed me to sleep more comfortably with him for the nonstop nursing sessions. That is not for everyone and created its own challenges. Good luck, I am expecting baby number 2 and my husband is already asking how we are going to improve the sleep/nursing combo. I wish I could say I would change it but I am one of those that does whatever it takes in the middle of the night even if my quality of sleep is diminished.

@cake2017: I would like him in his crib in his room. I know there’s going to be some tears but I’m not good at letting my babies cry and cry. I guess I’m just looking for suggestions from other Moms who co-slept with an all night nurser and we’re able to get them into their cribs.

I was just dealing with this a week ago :) .... LO was finish with his swaddle and refused to sleep in crib. If he did it was for an hour max! So I became exhausted and tired of falling asleep in the rocking chair because I was nursing all night!!! I brought him to our bed! He woke up to eat every hour! This happened for a month and half until we moved. I didn’t realize how much it messed with our sleep-mine,LO and husband. I loved snuggling with him but now he’s in his room in the crib. That was the only thing that fixed it! It was a hard transition. I am still working on it actually. But LO is sleeping through the night and is clearly not hungry in my scenario! I think he didn’t know how to fall back to sleep so he would nurse.

Everyone is different so you have to find what is best for you as a family!

Would you prefer to co sleep or you would like to transition him to sleep in his crib?

My ds2 is a huge boob monster and nurses all night... Still at 15 months. I am trying to get him out of our bed and I wish I had made a bigger effort when he was younger... But if he cried at night he's wake ds1 so he kinda just gets whatever he wants.

My almost 6 month old sleeps in our bed. For a while he was giving me some good stretches of sleep but now he’s waking every hour or less to nurse. I know it’s a habit at this point but it has to stop because I’m exhausted.

We co-slept with my first but he wasn’t this bad with the boob. With my first when he was 7m I started nursing him in the glider in his room and would then put him in his crib asleep. If he woke we would bring him to bed with us. He slowly started stretching the amount of time he would sleep until he slept through the night. He now sleeps 8-7 every night.

I assumed I would do the same with #2 but he’s out of control. I started trying to put him in his crib every night, but the little stinker wakes up as soon as I put him in. And no amount of patting or soothing will put him back to sleep. I also have a toddler now who makes it even harder. I can’t disappear with #2 to nurse him in his room because my toddler will follow me and my husband is literally at work from 7-8 every day. So I’m on my own most of the night. I also worry about LO2 waking up LO1 throughout the night. LO1 can be a beast when he doesn’t get sleep.

Any suggestions how to tackle my boob monster?
