@regberadaisy: Tyler initially would scream too. Honestly I don't know if I would consider what we do CIO because he never cried all that much - maybe a few minutes? Then fuss for a few....we haven't attempted anything in the middle of the night though....just bedtime and naps.

Sorry : /

@winniebee: we have in a moment of desperation. She basically cries bloody murder. Sigh. I'm starting to wonder if she will ever fall asleep on her own.

You mentioned she wakes when you put her down....have you tried putting her down awake and letting her fall asleep on her own? Bedtime changed so drastically for us once we let him learn how to fall asleep. We didn't sleep train per se, but we do let him cry for a little bit or fuss before he falls asleep and now he can put himself to sleep with just a little fussing whereas before he needed a bottle or paci to sleep.

We also went through a sleep regression a little after 6 months 2 weeks ago! She would NOT fall asleep! Then her naps when down the crapper. She would sometimes wake up after an hour after putting her to sleep. It was not fun. I kept thinking overtired? undertired? too many naps? too little naps?

We ended up having to sleep train via modified CIO again. It took a little longer, around 5 days. But she's back to normal, with the exception of her now waking up 2x at night instead of her usual 1x. :(

L went through an awful sleep regression at 6 months that lasted until we finally sleep trained a few weeks ago at 7.5 months. I think it had to do with the fact that she was learning and developing so much during that time (crawling, sitting up, etc). She woke up crying every 2 or 3 hours. I just consoled her each time as best as I could and nursed her to sleep, but after 6 weeks it wore me out so I didn't get her when she up woke up... and then she started sleeping through the night again!

Unfortunately, that only lasted 2 weeks. I think she's going through something else right now (teething, perhaps?) because once again, she's up 2 or 3 times each night. Le sigh.

If it's not one, it's another.

@regberadaisy: Well, my first night of it was after the drive-home from my interview, so that was a messed-up bedtime and routine. The 2nd night I did 'the usual'. The 3rd night I tried a later bedtime, and maybe skipped bath? Now I can't remember. And tonight I went back to 'the usual'. And it is a 'bad night' again already.

Is there such a thing??? All this past week she has been treating bedtime like a nap. The instant I put her in the crib she wakes up fussing. After 2-3 tries I just bring her back out so I don't get too frustrated. And she's still fine, not cranky till about 9 which is about 2 hrs after I bring her out. And that's usually how long she goes between naps.

Is there such a thing as a 6 month sleep regression? Is there a wonder week at 25 or 26? I didn't think so.
Can my baby be pushing back her own bedtime??
