I remember waking up once when I was pregnant with my LO with BAD cramps. I jotted them down in my journal because they were so strong, they literally woke me up. My LO is 21 months and healthy as can be. So cramping can be normal. But just to be safe, i would call the OB if you're concerned.

I'm glad the call to the doctor helped reassure you! I hope some added water does the trick.

I know this is easier said than done, but try not to stress. Not to be gross, but it could be something as simple as gas pains. Your body is flooded with hormones and that does weird stuff to your digestion sometimes. Even if you do have some spotting with pain, that doesn't always mean something is wrong. But I agree, if you can call your doctor, do so if you're concerned.

thanks for the responses everyone --- i spoke to my doc's office. based on questions she asked ( did i have diarrhea, is my abdomen sore or hard, do i have cramps now, am i bleeding -- all NOs).... she thinks i'm ok. she said to definitely drink more fluids - that could have been the issue - i don't drink as much water as I should, and i had that bad night sweat.... so hopefully that was all the excitement for me for a few weeks!

Cramping can be super normal, especially in early pregnancy. But it never hurts to call to ask your OB. : )

Cramping can just be the uterus stretching I had this a lot. However you should still call you OB just to be sure because no spotting doesnt necessarily mean everything is ok.

I think it sounds kind of normal...especially since they went away and there's no spotting. It could have just been your uterus stretching.

Cramping is normal during pregnancy, even though it's so scary! But don't be afraid to call your doctor, they are there to talk you though all the weird pregnancy stuff!

A call to your OB will help ease your mind and provide you with the most sound advice. Don't ever be afraid to call them no matter what the question! That's that's their job and I'm sure they would be more than happy to address your concerns!

I had some strong cramping that prevented me from standing upright, but it was later (~16 weeks) and they said it was round ligament pain. I still called their office upset, but felt much better after speaking with the doctor and knowing that it was normal.

Hey all .... Not sure if I am over thinking this. Last night I woke up at 11 drenched in sweat -- figure its a night sweat and normal...

Then at around 1 am I woke up with really bad cramps - much worse than I have had since finding out I was PG... I almost felt nauseous from the cramps, they were making me sweat all over- I got up, got some water, and then shortly after they completely disappeared.

I had no blood at all... Havent had any spotting since i got pg. Is this normal? I am only 6 weeks, this freaked me out... Feel normal again this morning..

Should I call my doc? Thanks!
