We've noticed our LO has been extra fussy this week, and crying a lot more than normal. She's an extraordinarily good baby though, so the fussiness is still manageable. Sorry you're having such a hard time! LO is 8 weeks tomorrow, but she was 3 weeks early so I guess it would make sense that we're hitting our fussy patch now. I hope it doesn't last too long!

Hang in there! I know it's hard. My daughter was much fussier than my son has been, but she did (mostly) grow out of it. I used to have to jog in place while holding her or bounce up and down for like an hour before she would go to sleep. It was so hard!

Can you get outside today? Usually a change of scenery would help DD calm down a bit, although it didn't always work. Hang in there! I know it's hard, but just try to get through today. It will start getting better very soon!

Hugs to you mama. LO's fussiness peaked between 7 and 9 weeks. There was no screaming, just low-level fussing all.freaking.day. I wanted to sell him to the highest bidder!!

@mrs. wagon: I have a Sakura Bloom Ring Sling. She LOVES it. It was the only one that she could tolerate up until like a few months ago

I am going out of my mind today! She is just like Wagon Jr., she does not really like to be held-- she strains and strains against me unless I am literally violently shaking her. I feel like she can get whiplash. Nursing her calms her down for a bit, but after she gets full she just fights against the breast, spilling milk all over herself and me, so after I gave that up I tried to rock her to sleep... no luck there, so she's back in the swing now with LOUD music on.

Seriously, nothing works with this child... with Wagon Jr. at least the swing or bouncy chair would calm him down if he didn't want to be held, and he'd eventually fall asleep. He loved the carseat and being driven or strolled around too. With this little girl I have tried: swaddling, shushing, swaying, sucking, rocking, shaking, bouncing, nursing, co-sleeping, vibrating chair, swing, ergo... nothing works!!! She has now been awake for over 4.5 hours... officially a record for her. Usually during the day she is awake no longer than 45 mins.

During that time I basically wore the Moby all day, so it was easier and faster to get DS in. And I had a lot of breakdowns. I remember one day both kids were crying all. day. long. And when my husband came home, I broke down crying and told him I wasn't cut out to be a SAHM. He reminded me that tough days are inevitable, but it gets better and easier with more practice. I'd say our real turning point came at about 8 weeks. From there on out, it's only got easier!

Do you think she's going through a growth spurt? That usually lasts about a week for us, and then things settle back down.

Ugh, I remember those days. Her fussiness peaked at around 6-8 wks and lasted till about 14 wks. I remember thinking it would never end, but it did and now at six months, she is so fun and pleasant so hang in there!! :) I used our swing constantly and spent most of the day holding her, rocking her, or nursing. ahh those good ol newborn days!

My LO is 10 weeks old now and he hit his most fussy time at about 5 weeks. He would be good during the day and then around 6pm every single night he would fuss and cry and want to cluster feed non-stop, which was hard for me since I wasn't a huge fan of breastfeeding at that point. I spent a lot of time on the couch with him attached to a boob since that was literally one of the few things that would calm him down. We also tried going outside with him on our porch - the warm breeze and the sound of the cars going by/hum of the air conditioner helped immediately so it must have been the white noise that he liked. Also wearing him in the Ergo sometimes would help, but not always. This went on for about 2 weeks and then magically one night he was fine! And he's been good ever since then until he got his shots yesterday :( Hang in there, though, it really doesn't last long though it feels like it at the time!

oh man I remember the 6 week mark. It was BRUTAL for us too because she also had colic. But it does end, hang in there. I held Liv through the fussy period. Let her sleep on me, rocked her, and wore her CONSTANTLY in her ring sling. but once it was done, it was smooth sailing. Hang in there!

I haven't really noticed this yet (she's 6 weeks today, 6 weeks 4 days past her due date). I hope she doesn't start this today because we were going to move her from her co-sleeper on our bed into the pack n play tonight. She's also been doing really well with naps in her swing (instead of on me) since last week and I'd like for that to continue. She's always nursed to sleep though so maybe I'm just not noticing?

She did get fussy with my husband last night though and continued to indicate she wanted me even though she wasn't hungry which was new. Also, her sleep after her long stretch at night hasn't been as great. So maybe she is fussier than normal in small ways. Her growth spurts are usually awful though so this is way better for me.

I remember that 2 month mark and feeling it. I think it was that point that I realized I couldn't ever be a SAHM. I remember by the time I went back at 3 months (12 weeks) things were MUCH better and she was actually enjoyable to be around and a good healthy schedule/pattern in our days had emerged.

We've reached the 6 week mark (5 weeks from her due date) and the fussiness peak is definitely here. She used to be able to fall asleep on her own if she was drowsy enough, but now she wants to be held all the time, and even holding usually isn't enough now-- she needs to be very aggressively bounced and swayed. Not to mention swaddled and shushed... and SOMEtimes the pacifier helps. Usually not though.

Right now she's in the swing and just whining and whimpering away :(

Anyone else dealing with the fussiness peak (or recently went through it and can help me see the light at the end of the tunnel)???
