I was afraid of this too, but no speculum here. She did a quick internal exam with her fingers to make sure the uterus had gone back down, visually checked the area, and we discussed birth control options. It was quick and easy and painless!

I had a c-section...at my 6 week PP checkup my OB checked my incision, did an internal exam, discussed how I was feeling physically and emotionally (PPD symptoms, etc...) and we discussed birth control options. I was given the all clear for sex and exercise. It was a relatively quick appt.

My OB does ours at 4 weeks. I just had mine on Monday. Had my Mirena placed and was told all was healed and I could start having sex again if I felt up for it. (Which we did lol ).
I got my paper clearing me to go back to work two weeks from that date at exactly 6 weeks postpartum and an appt was made to check my mirena in a month.

She did a full on exam, with a pap and I was so freakin scared. But honestly, I didn't feel a thing and I had 3rd degree tears. She was in and out before I knew it, and we talked about sex and BC. It was really no big deal :)

She just checked on how things were down there...no speculum, just fingers. Had me do a few kegels around her fingers and talked BC options. It was very anticlimactic!

She just checked how I had healed and my uterus. Talked about BC, any questions I had about BF or anything else. In and out.

I had a c/s so they checked my scar, quick vaginal check, asked how I was feeling, talked about sex and birth control options. Then I was on my way. It was quick and painless.

I was checked to see how I was healing (I had a 2nd degree tear). Surprisingly, it really didn't hurt at all. I also asked the nurse practitioner to check if I had any rib separation, which I didn't. She cleared me for exercise and we spoke about birth control options.

Tomorrow is my 6 week check up with my OB, and I don't know what to expect. Is it just a regular exam (speculum after an episiotomy...no thank you)? What was your experience like?
