@autumnleaves: Dd is close to crawling too. And she might also be teething, she has 2 bottom teeth and lots of drool so maybe he upper two are coming. I think what's frustrating is knowing that she used to sttn. With DS he never sttn until he was over a year old so I never knew what it was like until Dd

DS2 didn't sleep the other night - it was like he's a newborn all over again. He didn't seem hungry through. I think he's learning so much he just can't stop moving and thinking. He's close to crawling. Also he could always be teething - no teeth yet but lots of drool. I hope the sleepless nights do not last long. This is exhausting.

@iluvboba637: sore subject! :silly: S went back to waking once per night for a couple of weeks, then slept through for four nights in a row....! Then, last night, she woke at 1am and wouldn't go back to sleep. Then, this evening, it has taken until 9pm to get her to sleep (we started at 6pm because she hadn't napped all day and was exhausted). I dread to think what tonight will bring. She's cutting four teeth right now.

@iluvboba637: yes! She started sleeping again last week, just as suddenly as she stopped! We've had a couple nights where she's woken up once but gone right back down. So fingers crossed that this keeps up!
Good luck- I hope it passes soon for you. The lack of sleep is just awful.

@iluvboba637: S went back to waking up once per night for a few nights but the last two nights have been terrible again - up 9pm, 10pm, 3am and up for the day at 6. At the 10 & 3 wake ups, she drained a 7oz bottle. I'm exhausted.

@MrsRoo: @mamabolt: @Cherrybee: @Mrs Spoon: @Turd Ferguson: has your Lo's sleep gotten any better? I think Dd went to 2 wakeups then one night it was down to 1, then back to three wake ups again sigh. And she only wants the boob so dh can't help bc she'll get even angrier if he offers a bottle. I'm fairly certain she's not hungry though.

Omg I just want to sleep. Why can't she sttn like when she was two months old. Clearly she's capable Of it.

@Mrs Spoon: I hope it passes! We are having the same issue with DD at her 3 am waking. The others she will go to sleep, but apparently 3am is party time. Soooooo frustrating. I've changed the words in one of her lullabies to "go the eff to sleep, please" it makes me feel a little better. :silly:

@KatieBklyn: @Cherrybee: please, oh please let this be a regression that we hit early. @mamabolt: yes, so so tired. hope it passes soon for you.

@BlueWolverine: after another hellacious night and a bad wife moment where I snapped at DH as he was trying to help, I think we are right there with attempting CIO this week. I just.cant.take it anymore.

Here to commiserate. We finally gave up Friday night and let her cio. It took an hour and 20 minutes of hell. Since then, she has been sleeping well. It has only been two nights though. Before that, she was up every two hours and impossible to put down. I don't love cio, but I know it works for some babies though our experience with DD1. I hope all your babes settle soon (and that mine keeps it up). It's so hard when they've been sleeping and then they blow it up!

The 8 month sleep regression has hit our house big time in the last week or so. S was 7.5 months when it started. She has so much going on developmentally, it's like she has just woken up as a person - so I suspect that's why she is struggling to switch off. It's torturous though!

Ugh, the eight month sleep regression is the worst. I honestly don't think there's anything you can do but survive it. We were (and still are) big believers in CIO but it did nothing for my son during that regression, and I have plenty of co-sleeping friends who experienced the same thing. It SUCKS. But it will pass.

We are right there with you. 7 month old waking up 3-4 x a night out of the blue. The hardest part is that he often doesn't want to get back in his own crib after I feed him and get him back to sleep. Sometimes it takes an hour to get him back down. Ugh. Sorry we are all dealing with it. Hoping it's a phase we can ride out. We're exhausted!

@LBee: yes, with the waking up starving! I've given her bottles some nights because she's acting so hungry that my boobs can't keep up-especially since she wasn't eating at night for months prior to this hell.
We're increasing her solids intake and hoping that helps too.

@sapphire: hmmm, maybe. She wakes from her last nap at daycare about 4-430 so she's usually wide awake in the evenings. But I can definitely switch some things in the bedtime routine around and get her to bed sooner. What's the normal awake time between last nap and bed typically at 7 months?

This happened to us at 8 months! It was so bad that one night in the middle of the night I went and got his baby book and scribbled at the top of the 8 months page, "sleep went to hell!!!" He hadn't been eating in the night since 10 weeks and suddenly was waking up appearing to be starving. I ended up just feeding him and deciding to ride it out. It stopped as quickly as it started.... but lasted about two weeks.

Yes - DD too. letting her cry only leads to her screaming bloody murder and waking up big brother. Idk what else to do. Last night she woke at 11, 1, 4, and is now being held to sleep at 6 am here. But at least she wasn't up wide awake babbling away last night. Hopefully it gets better soon for you too. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's just teeth or wonder week (although 31 weeks is not a wonder week leap) or something and that it will pass soon.

@iluvboba637: omg. Yes- thats the hard part for me too- she's so hard to get back to sleep! Or she will fall asleep nursing but as soon as I put her down she starts cooing and babbling away!
@Turd Ferguson: we have been letting her cry for a bit because this has been going on so long. Sometimes she goes back to sleep. Sometimes she escalates to screaming bloody murder. :meh:

Oh goodness. Us too for the last 2 nights. She used to sleep 8-6 straight no wake ups since 2 months. She also handled the 4 month sleep regression ok, just a couple wake ups and back to sleep quite quickly and was back to sttn in about a week. But last night she was up from 11-2 and even nursing didn't get her back to sleep she just babbled on and on.

Our previously champion sleeper started pretty suddenly waking every 2-3 hours. This has been going on since right around 6 months, so for the last month, DH and I are zombies. She goes down at 830 and wakes at midnight, 130, 330, and then 6ish. I'm losing my mind. She has 3 teeth, but they all had erupted before this sleep issue started. I don't really see signs of tooth number 4 yet. She's slightly congested, but only for the last couple days.
Anyone have any brilliant sleep tricks? Or at least commiseration?
