@mrsjyw: How did this work out for you? I was searching through threads because we are having this exact problem right now. LO normally puts himself to sleep for naps with minimal problems, but lately he cries uncontrollably when I put him down. Figured now was the time to cut from 3 naps to 2, but now our last awake time is so incredibly long. He wakes around 7:30, back down at 9 and sleeps till 10:15-10:30. Then he normally goes back down around 1, and the last few days I've tried to extend it until 2, but he's so tired and fussy that I've just been putting him down. Bedtime is between 7-7:30, Anything work for you?

C's naps are getting shorter and shorter. She's only doing 2-3 naps a day and they are usually only 45 mins long.

@Freckles: we've been trying to stretch it out to 4 hours awake time from his 2.5-3 from before... no dice!! :( i'm hoping it's just a fluke... def paying more attention to the 2 nap transitio now!

Agree with PP. That was transition time for us, so we had to extend wake times. 1.5 each is probably sufficient as long as he's in bed early enough!

Have you tried extending the wake time? It could be that he's not as tired. I *think* mine transitioned to 2 naps around that time.

my lil sleeper is FIGHTING naps the last few days.

he usually naps 2 or 3 times a day (we're in the thick of transitioning to two naps i think) either for 1.5 each or 1 each, 3 hours total a day.

the last few days, he's been screaming/crying when we try to put him down. he's only napped 1-2 hours and it's spread thin between car naps/podaegi baby wearing naps/nursing naps.

i think he may be cutting teeth (slowwwwwly) his top four!!

his nighttime sleep is still good. 7-6, with 1-2 wakeups where he puts himself back to sleep. but even those minor wakeups aren't his norm!

anyone have experience? is it just the teething? he's otherwise still his happy go lucky self. i just know he's tired. and noticed he's got bags under his eyes during the day :(
