You're right, a broken hip is worse than a slapped cheek, but I also think that male on female physical abuse is often taken more seriously/punished more severely than female on male, which isn't right. I wonder what would have happened if the situation were reversed -- he hit her first and she caused him to break his hip? Her husband is perusing dating sites and causes her to break her hip. I just think it's interesting that they only arrested him when the article says that his face was clearly red from where his wife hit him.
