Glad to hear it went well! We went back to swaddling around then, too, for that very reason. It helped!

fwiw, my baby never napped well at home, but always did at daycare. She's one now, and her naps at home got better around 11 months. Who knows with these kiddos? I took comfort in knowing that at least she got 5 good days of naps at school, even if I couldn't do it at home!

A quick update - naps went fairly well this weekend. I spoke with daycare on Friday and found out that they swaddle her if she's too fussy! We haven't done that in months! Had a couple of successful naps without but the last one on Sunday she was really squirmy so I wrapped her up and she was out like a light for 1.5 hours....lovely!
I also replicate everything else they do (but have been since she started there) - shades down, white noise, putting down awake.

I think they have more peer pressure in day care, and less fun if they stay awake. My son have up his nap at home somewhere between 12 and 18 months, and he still naps in day care at almost two and a half. Maybe just replace the nap with some quiet time playing or reading... it could be just a phase, but some kids give it up and never look back.

I did manage to get him to nap at first with nursing or long walks outside, but it was very hit and miss...

Do you have any sort of white noise at home? I wonder if the noise and commotion at day care helps her sleep.

Bumping for you! Hopefully someone has some good advice! I know exactly what you mean about treasuring your downtime during weekend naps, I'm the same way!

My daughter just turned 7 months and has been in daycare for 5 weeks now. After the first week or two she started napping great (usually 2 naps 1.5-2.5hrs and a 3rd shorter nap) even better than she did at home previously. But for the past 2 weekends she's refused to nap in her crib at home. The minute I start lowering her in to it she screams and won't stop (we've given her as much as 30 minutes with no luck). She still sleeps great at night during the week and on the weekends. We've always put her down awake and have the same nap routine that daycare has so I have no idea what to do. Has this happened to anyone else? I suppose I should be flattered that she wants to spend more time with us on the weekends but I work full time and really treasure those few hours of quiet time on the weekends!
