My 10.5 month old is doing this! She refuses to take more than 1 nap each day, although I know she's super tired (rubbing her eyes, fussy, pulling at my shirt). This has been going for at least a week. Hopefully she'll go back to two naps soon :(

Wonder Baby did this too, I thought she might be ready to go to one nap but she started falling asleep in her lunch. Just a developmental thing

@keiki_mama: I just had this issue last week and LO will be 9 months tomorrow. LO is sleep trained and was fighting naps and bedtime, with short naps and night wakings.

As @Brownie advised me when I posted about it, it really was a wonder week thing and we're pretty much back to normal this week. Hang in there!

8 months is crazy early for one nap!

I'm assuming he's totally sleep trained and falls asleep on his own? And he is fighting every nap and bedtime too?

ETA: didn't realize this was an old thread! But the same questions apply to @keiki_mama!

@keiki_mama: hi! Our situation ended up like brownie's-the nap struggling took about a week and then he did a few days of three naps, almost like he was recovering, then did 2 naps for good. So I guess it was just a transition time even though the days felt suuuuper long! We've been pretty good with two naps ever since. Good luck!

@keiki_mama: We had this issue at the same time and it was ultimately a wonder week for us. He went back to 3 naps a day (never a good napper so 3 naps of 1 hour each) after the wonder week was over. He ultimately didn't start doing 1 nap until last month at 19 months old.

Hi @Kfamilie! Just wondering how this issue resolved for you? My LO is 9 months and seems to be pushing for one nap now :/ It seems from everything I've read it's way too early for him to transition to 1 nap.

Other mamas please feel free to chime in I'd love to hear how many naps your LOs took at this age.

I am. So. Confused. LO is 8 months old and in the last three days has been fighting every single nap like crazy. It's not even that he wants company or to be soothed-he's just wide awake and nothing will put him to sleep, not even nursing! He is already getting 3.5 hours awake time in the morning and in the middle of the day he wants even more!! We had been doing something like 3.25, 3.5-3.75, then 3 before bedtime but now he's still acting like he's not getting enough awake time. I've tried putting him down sooner, watched for eye rubbing and fussiness but I'm really confused. Anybody else go through this? He used to go to bed around 7 but it shifted around 8 months to more like 8; which I'm fine with because I'm scared of the time change and ewu. Thoughts? Thanks!
