Ours at that age was a little different because he wasn't still taking that late nap. So he woke at about 4 and breastfed. Then dinner at 6, then bath, etc. breastfeed at 7:30, then bed. Now we have dropped the 4pm feeding and he just gets bm at 730 before bed.

Our day loosely looks like this:

7:00- bottle
8:30-breakfast/solids
10:00- bottle before nap
1:00lunch/solids
3:00-bottle before nap
5:30- dinner/solids
7:00- bottle before bed

Sometimes there will be an extra bottle thrown in if he's really hungry or if we are out when he'd usually get lunch.

@.twist.: LOL M is the same way about water. She doesn't understand the sippy cup either, but if I tilt it for her she'll chew on it and water will come out. She gives me the most disgusted look.

I nurse M when we get home from daycare (around 5:00), then we feed her solids at 6 (she still doesn't eat much, though). We start bedtime routine at 6:30 and I nurse her again before bed around 6:45 (I don't think she eats much at this nursing session...it's more to just comfort her/relax her before bed).

@Bookish: @.twist.: Jack thinks water is poison as well. Its so different to see their personal tastes shine through :)

@.twist.: Yeah, I wouldn't think he would need to nurse again so soon after solids. And maybe push the solids back a little bit after that first nursing session so that he's actually a little hungry and maybe eats more?

I would drop the 5 nursing, move up solids, and then nurse again right before bed.

At 8 months R was down to 4 bottles a day and 3 solid meals.

@Adira: hmm. That might actually work best. I've been trying to get him to take a bottle for the last feed anyway so I can drop it from out breastfeeding schedule. But if we drop it all together, maybe that would work best!?

Can you drop the last nursing session? That's probably what I would do. With Xander at that age, we did this:

5:20/30 - nurse
6:00/30 - solids
7:00 - bed (no additional feeds)

@edelweiss: yea, I could definitely try that! He does get pissed off at me what I don't bf him after naps, but he might just have to deal with it. Haha

it sounds like he is filling up at the 5pm nursing session. you could try giving him his solids/dinner when he wakes up, and then nursing at the 6.30 slot or later (like closer to bedtime).

@Bookish: he hasn't quite grasped the sippy cup yet and refuses all bottles. :( I give him the sippy every meal but he just kinda plays with it. If he does manage to get a sip of water (which I do encourage) he looks at me like I might be feeding him poison.

Eta: Also, the reason I do the 5:00 feed is because he's super pissed off (usually) after naps and wants to bf. He does it after every nap. I don't know if it's something I should stop or what...

Probably need to space them out a bit more. It looks like he's eating 3 times in an hour and a half span, which is probably just too close together for him

Are you doing water at all yet? Could you do water with dinner instead of BF-ing before, and then maybe he'd be hungry enough to BF after?

I need a little help, L was doing great with our solids routine until a few days ago. I think teething might be playing a part in it, but would still like some input anyway.

Our daytime routine is ok, but I think that our evening routine is a little crammed.

Here's what we do:

4:00p - nap
5:00p - wake up breastfeed
5:20/30p - solid dinner
6:20/30p - breastfeed

And then bedtime routine (does not include another feeding) and bed.

He doesn't seem to be hungry for the last solid meal and breastfeed of the night. Is he full? Do I need to space them out a bit more? What is your schedule like?
