My guy did that around 8 months for 2-3 weeks. I think it's really milestone based. At 8 months they start doing all kinds of things and I really feel like it has something to do with it. Hang in there! (we didn't CIO and I still night feed at 14mo tbh)

@tinyperson: we were on one night waking for a long time and around 8 months, had the same thing happen. I rolled with it for a while and fed him an extra time and then would just pick up/put down until he gave in. One particularly bad morning I let him sleep on top of me in the glider. It's been better, knock on wood, after about 2 or 3 weeks of off and on obnoxiousness. Lately he's back to eating just once, it's just earlier (11 or 11:30) instead of 2/2:30 like before.

@tinyperson: I'm not suggesting you do give it up! I didn't until our pediatrician said it was ok. And, I'm being generous. My son wasn't even born on the charts and was more like 3rd percentile up until 12 months. I just was sharing my experience. Good luck!

We went through the "9 month" sleep regression at 8/9 months. It passed naturally on its own..but it seems to be back right now. Given, she also seems to have a little cold and is teething and working on walking...

@tinyperson: I know what you mean! I just give up quickly and take her to bed with me, which is probably not helping the situation. Good luck to you! I hope you get some sleep one way or another.

@winniebee: my LOs a 0.5-3 percent baby, so shes being monitored. Can't give up the feeding.

@MrsScallop: I'm sorry you're going through the same thing, but I'm glad I'm not alone! When she wakes up, she's not going down for a couple of hours, and I get frustrated with her. Trying to be patient on no sleep isn't easy!

Not sure, but my 8 month old is doing the same thing now! She used to sleep from 8pm to at least 3am (sometimes even 5 or 6am!), but lately she has been waking up around midnight or earlier. We just moved and she has teeth coming in, so I'm assuming that is it. I am hoping that in a couple weeks it will go back to usual though.

It's all a blur, but I think there is a 9 month regression. We became more strict about going to T in the middle of the night around 8 months which is when he started consistently going without a night waking (I wasn't comfortable doing it until then because he is a 5th percentile baby -- but he always has been and probably always will be!)

I have an 8 month old who for the past week or so wakes up a consistent 3.5 hours after bed time. I've put her to bed later and earlier, we've done 2 and 3 naps, the routine is the same - she just wakes up and will not go down again for a couple of hours.

I'm not willing to CIO. Usually a little rock does the trick, and she goes down well to start off the night. I'm still nursing her at night because she's small and has fallen off the growth curve a bit, so sleep training to cut out all wakings isn't an option.

She may be teething - she pulls her ears, loves a teething ring - but I don't see or feel anything there.

Any thoughts on what could be happening?
