This is the point at which we tossed a few soft stuffed animals into the crib. Each boy has slept with about 3-4 different ones plus a small soft plushy blanket and a toddler pillow since they could pull up. The idea is that if they fall over, it might be a little bit of a bumper. Between that and the mesh bumpers, there was enough stuff around the crib where I didn't think it would do much damage. I left my kids alone. They would cry and tip over at some point and fall back asleep. It only lasted a few days.

I agree with @SweetiePie: and just let it pass. The fascination will eventually wane. If you haven't lowered your crib yet, you'll definitely want to do that.

@cake2017: well, he’s getting to the Bumps and bruises stage since he’s crawling and pulling up and soon cruising. So, it’s going to happen. He’s not going to get majorly hurt from bumping his head on the crib, so I just let it go. That’s how they learn!
But if you aren’t comfortable with that, I wouldn’t go in and just lay him down. I would go in and not talk or really acknowledge (so he knows it’s not playtime) and I would help him get down. Like move his arms and legs to show him how to get back down. If that makes sense.

But he will learn and figure it out, this is temporary. And normal and good! Because he’s learning a new skill.

@SweetiePie: Should I go to the room and put him back down or let him fall which would cause him to hit his head or something...?

@cake2017: normal/they all do it with new skills. nothing you can really do. It’ll last a week or so then he’ll be over it and sleep will go back to normal. Just try to keep things consistent and don’t create new sleep crutches.

Hi all,

LO just discovered he can stand. He’s crawling too. Now he’s standing in the crib and doesn’t know how to get down. Rough night of screaming and crying. Any advice.....?

He sleeps well now just this.

TIA
