But he's also huge for his age so he has a lot of weight to support, balance and move around. Then I remember that my awesome, smart and athletic sister didn't walk until 16 months and I realize DS will get there eventually. </p> <p>Do your pediatricians go through a milestone list at your routine well baby appointments? Turns out that just earlier, after I posted, she started sitting. Go figure. I sat her down with her brother who was playing with some Legos. She grabbed a couple pieces and started gnawing. She sat there for a good 10-15 minutes just gnawing and watching her brother. Larger babies with larger heads may have good enough trunk control to sit at a later age then smaller kids. Our daughter was tiny and began sitting unassisted at four months. On the other hand, she was scared of falling on our hardwood floors and didn't walk til 13 months. I can sit her up for 30 seconds or so and she'll eventually slump back down to her tummy. She's more interested in movement and scoots around like a seal. She also seems to be developing normally in other areas.</p> <p>Is anyone else's LO a late sitter? </p>
