Phew. 9.5 weeks now and in the last weekend and out of this horror and she goes to bed around 7. Thinking it was a wonder week!

Our witching hour was 4pm-11pm. DH used to put her in the carrier and dance energetically to pop-punk - it was the only thing that soothed her.

Ugh! Witching hours!! We got around that this time (mostly) with an earlier bedtime. Like, too early, but I knew it would be temporary. Some nights he was down for the night by 5. But he would still be up to eat every 3, we just didn't have the drama at bedtime. Evening also had to be calmer and dim lights, which was tough with big bro, but we just came upstairs.

At that age, "bedtime" was around 9-10pm. Last "nap" would be around 7-8pm. And, like everyone else, this is around when the witching hours started, o that last nap was hit or miss sometimes.

OMG my son's witching hours were from 9pm-1am at minimum - he was utterly inconsolable that whole time. I so longed for like a 6pm witching hour!

I would try to see if she can snooze around 6pm in the swing or something and get a cat nap in to fend off some crankiness and then move into a soothing bedtime routine like bath, lotion, jammies, soft music, dark room, a long nursing session or big bottle, and then bedtime by 8pm.

My babies both just needed to nurse off and on for a few hours before bedtime at this age. I would camp on the couch with Netflix and water and a snack and just let them doze and nurse on me until 9 or 10.

I remember bouncing on the yoga ball because that's the only way to soothe her. We also had a later bedtime at that age. Maybe around 10pm?

Witching hour(s). It goes away around 12 weeks or so. God those days sucked though! Ours was 6-10?usually.

I coped by taking a hot shower to relax and reset before dealing with it. We just camped out in bed with white noise on, took turns rocking/bouncing her, nursed and swaddled.

I seem to recall my daughter going through this phase, too. I think they call it the witching hour. I don't remember exactly how we got through it, but I know the Internet had a lot of ideas! I think we camped out on the couch a lot and just took turns holding/soothing her... Hopefully someone else can be of more help to you! Sorry :meh:

Baby girl is 8 weeks old. She does pretty well with MOTN sleep and will get down after a feed with minimal fuss, but getting her down for the night is baffling. She is a wreck by 6:30 pm (and has enough/not too much daytime sleep), but fusses, intermittently nurses, until 10 or later most nights. Should we try for a nap and then keep her up for a bit to get her down a little later? Getting pretty frustrated with a four hour long fake out of bedtime!
