@illumina: I keep telling myself it's just for fun but for some reason it keeps getting to me. My Achilles heel of parenting apparently :P

It's nice to be reassured that it's just a stage!

I'm pretty certain we went through a similar stage around that time...I read somewhere (maybe on HB!) that around the time they become mobile they become more picky about food as some kind of survival technique? I kept telling myself that food before one is just for fun and offered as much milk (formula) as she wanted. There were a few staples she always ate (breadsticks, puffs, cheese, yoghurt), but everything else was out. Pleased to report that at 13 months she's a great eater. I don't think it lasted long!

So my son is on a kick of "I hate solids. " Except Puffs, which he doesn't get unless we are out and no other options. I'm not sure if it's him exerting his will or just he hates my cooking, but I'm taking deep breaths as he throws everything I hand him.

I'm not alone in this, right? I imagine it's a stage and will pass, but he's waking me up more in the middle of the night because he's hungry so I really want this stage to go away :).
