Have you tried a 360 cup? We do them with or without the stoppers in the top. They are still slow though!

@iluvboba637: have you tried Motrin in case it is teeth? Maybe if she's in pain that would help & calm her down enough to try a bottle?

@T.H.O.U.: will try the food coloring tomorrow. At this point I'm willing to try just about anything and everything. We actually do use the take and toss cups and she can suck but she doesn't always swallow everything that she sucks and so she'll spit or let some dribble out. She only takes maybe an ounce with the straw.

I just don't know anymore. When introducing a new bottle, she will usually allow the nipple in her mouth, chew it a bit and then push it away. She won't attempt to even suck. She's also refused her pacifiers too. But boobs, sigh, she's killing my nipples, it's like the newborn days all over again. I just don't get it - she took the medela bottles fine for 8 months.

And if it's teeth, gosh darn it, why is it taking so long to cut through

I know you said she rejected juice in the bottle but what if you added a drop of coloring to make the milk a fun color? Would that be exciting to her?

@iluvboba637: the cheap take and toss straw cups don't have a Calvin on the straw. So if she can suck those are really easy. If she's really protesting the bottle I would go for that. And plus they are like $3 so you're not out a ton of $$$.

Also since she's eating solids I would offer lots of fatty calorie rich foods like avocado and sweet potatoe and anything you can add breaktmk to!!

@T.H.O.U.: 3 weeks. Oh my!

No, no supplements, meds or change in diet. She'll take the milk from a straw and she's taken it pumped fresh, refrigerated, or frozen for the last 8 months until now.

@iluvboba637: s he won't starve! My little girl at 4 months just went 3 weeks with only 1-2 oz during the day. We think it was a lipase issue.

Have you started any vitamins or mess or new diet?

what about maybe just giving it another week? Babies are way smarter than we think about getting the food they need. I feel like if she's hungry she'll eat? DS refused the bottle when he first went to daycare and starved himself for a week or so. He made up for it nursing and with solids i'm assuming... He got over it and has been fine ever since.

@DesertDreams88: will try gas drops and cold sippies and diff kinds of sippies.

Hot bottle = no go. Tried feeding in every position and just about every where.

I don't think the nipple flow is a factor bc she pushes the bottle away and screams at the sight of it. Even tried juice and still the same reaction.

This. Is. so. Hard. :(

We're curently dealing witha bottle strike but LO is 11m so it's not as "frightening" per se.... ideas:
- Feeding on the diaper changing table
- Feeding while cruising
- REALLY warm bottles
- Gas drops in the bottle (LO loves the taste of gas drops)
- Cold sippies
- Different kinds of sippies
- Fast flow nipples
- Offering during meals
- Offering every 20ish minutes... I gave up on tracking how long it had been "out" and "safe to drink".I asked my babysitters to basically keep it out and offer for the 3 hour periods between naps/sleep, and dump whatever was left at the start of a nap.

@pachamama: she's currently eating 3 meals of solids. She won't take a sippy cup, maybe teeth? Idk. She'll drink the milk from a straw cup but of course she drips a lot of it while doing so. So successfully only about an ounce.

Oh no! My son got weird about things around 9 months, I heard its the time they start to assert their independence.
I'm sure you already thought of this, but what about a Sippy cup? Sounds like maybe she's ready to move on from the bottle possibly....Also, try increasing solids?

Girls, my 9mo old Dd has refused the bottle this entire week when I went back to work on Monday from winter break. She has previously taken 2-3 bottles of pumped milk fine when I'm at work 6:30-1:30 (til 3:30 on Mondays). I think this came from my nursing her all day and only randomly having DH or grandma giving her the bottle every few days over the two weeks of winter break. But also more than likely teething too.

On Wednesday I had DH go buy all sorts of bottles. She screamed and pushed away every single one.

I know it's not my milk bc she'll drink it from a straw. But since she's not proficient with the straw yet she's only taking 1-2 oz the entire time I'm at work. And then she's up every hour or two overnight to nurse.

I'm so stressed about her starving on mondays when I work until 3:30. Luckily this Monday is MLK but on Thurs I'll have an all day training.

And she really can't wean from the bottle now. She still has 3 more months to go.

Please help. :crying:
